Stop Being a Melancholy Mustelid--we're gonna be fine thread

This post is just to get that bullshit beneath it off the lead line.

If you can't get excited for the 2018 season, you need to ask yourself why you even follow this team and probably need further medical treatment.

Shea, DPJ, Black, Steubs!!!!, Hudson, Don Mother Fucking Brown, HARBAUGH!!, 9 returning starters to that defense, The non returner is a 5 star beast, um Devin Missile Bush, More Hudson this time maybe a stud OT, Ruiz, Peters, All the TE!!!!!, my bet is on Singleton, everyone has forgot about near 5 star Luigi, Uche and Paye are going to kill a QB on a blitz, ND at night, revenge against PSU, Evans out of the backfield, Higdon thru safeties, Long and Hill and AMBRY on the slot!!!

We have a good team, in a super wide open year. Should be interesting.

Football wise, obviously there's a lot riding on this year. But if this roster can't have you feeling optimistic...

Larry Appleton or CatchaFire's second or third account. These type of threads are getting soooo tiresome. It is just some are more excited than others. After the last 10+ years it has become more of a show me results before we start blindly proclaiming UM football has returned. Others seem to be in denial of the slump the program is in and keep with the mantra of wait till next year. Been waiting a very long time.! It doesn't make one less of a fan for being tired of waiting.

I'm excited about the defense.   Absolutely and unequivocally.

I am dreading the offense.  We graduated our 2 best O-lineman from what was already a brutal O-line.    We saw across-the-board QB regression last year and that is something I don't think a transfer QB is going to solve this, if he's even eligible.   On the offensive side of the ball we saw a stunning lack of player development, terrible play-calling and downright ineptitude by both players and coaching staff.   Overall blocking was attrocious last year.  It was really glaring how bad our RB's blocked on passing downs.

I want to be excited about '18 but I can't until I see competence from the offense.  The D should be even better than '17 with more depth and experience we should expect better toughness late in games and fewer big-play mistakes.    I just have no faith in our offense and that I don't is an indictment of this coaching staff.  Hopefully last year ends up being an outlier and this '18 team is at least '16-caliber good.
