B1G "asks" TV Teddy Valentine to not work 2 games

Submitted by CalifExile on

From Mlive:

"On Wednesday, Valentine put himself in an unnecessary spotlight once again when he showed up North Carolina's Joel Berry, who was trying to ask about a missed call. Valentine, always the showman on the court, turned his back on the veteran.

"As a result, Valentine told The Athletic, he was asked by the Big Ten not to work two of his scheduled games this weekend: Friday's Wisconsin-Rutgers game, and today's clash between No. 1-ranked Michigan State and Ohio State."

His response to this proves he is uncoachable as a referee,  He still thinks he is a significant part of the game instead of someone who is just suppose to officiate games.

What a colossal asshole. That statement alone is enough to warrant his immediate termination for anything over t-ball. I've never once heard any official in any sport describe himself that way.

OP title could have been more informative. He was removed from 2 games from the B10. For all the valid complaining we do about officials being punished, it's worth noting that the B10 came down pretty hard on him here (two paychecks... that's probably pushing $10,000).

Teddy is a man with obvious emotional issues, and he let them affect his refereeing of basketball games.  Not exactly the calling card of a "stellar career"...

Add delusional to the mix.
