This one hurt. The last ball game I went to with my grandmother was a Doc start in his last year in Toronto. She is a tiny Irish woman who came to love the blue jays and before age fogged her memory Doc was one of her favorite players. He was a bright star on an otherwise bleak franchise and he was a true joy. I will never forget watching him toss the ball with his young sons on the field after his starts. Thank you for the memories

Got to watch him up close and personal at a spring training game in Bradenton when he was with the Blue Jays. We sat right behind the Blue Jays dugout. It was the end of spring training, so it was his game to go deep. He went a full 7 innings. I got to watch it with my Dad who was here visiting and it was one of the funnest nights ever to sit and watch it with him as Halladay was dominant. We are both big baseball guys and to see just how different he looked compared to everyone else was really cool. He was a great great pitcher and will be missed.

RIP Doc Halladay. Tough to hear the tragic news. Amazing pitcher and seemed like an even better person.
