Man if the "O" can at least put out numbers to reflect top 20-30 offense i really beleive this team will beat penn state and also be a playoff contender. I  have that much faith in Don Brown and the defense.

A Hawkeye fan had mentioned to me that Franklin and Ferentz had agreed in someway shape or fashion so that Penn St would get this past week as a bye. I don't know how true it is, but he's been a season ticket holder since the 80's. IDK man.

that was when the 2017 B1G schedule was originally released.  The game, by mutual agreement of the schools, was moved to late September.

FWIW - the original 2016 B1G schedule had Penn State playing at Michigan on 15-October.  That game was also moved to late September.

hell this is a massive game for both teams.  I just looked at the BIG schedule.  Penn State is coming off a bye with Michigan, OSU and MSU the next three weeks.  OSU is foaming at the mouth after last year and you also have to imagine that Penn State is going to just about be running out of gas by the time they get to EL.

Michigan has to win this game in order to even be any kind of factor going to forward in BIG race and really needs to just escape with a win to get to Rutgers, Minnesota, and Maryland and watch OSU, MSU, and Penn State beat each other to death for the next three weeks.

There may be bigger individual games on the schedule this year for both teams, but in terms of how things shake out in the East this may be the biggest game of the season.

With the D we have, there is always a puncher's chance....   I think it's going to take a defensive TD, and/or a special teams score for us to pull out a stunner.
