Its official now, Louisville fired Pitino.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Louisville's Athletic Association has officially fired coach Rick Pitino nearly three weeks after the school acknowledged that its men's basketball program is being investigated as part of a federal corruption probe.
So sad to see him go. Grief Counseling is available.

After the recent NCAA debacle with U North Carolina, it is clear that it will take a Federal indictment or threat of one to get anything to happen.
Consider that UNC much rather everyone know that they basically created fake courses and was OK with that FOR THE WHOLE STUDENT BODY, than to cop to admitting they were helping their athletes stay eligible. If that doesn't say "lack of institutional oversight", nothing wil.
At least I have plenty of stuff to razz more colleagues from UNC :)

He was already fired. They just had to give him a 10 day notice. His lawer even said "yeah, he's been fired." Add to the fact that he put his house on the market, this is no surprise to anyone.
