Sunday NCAA tourney open thread

A few thoughts: 1. I remember thinking that our loss to Alabama was awful because Bama had lost to Cornell. It may have been a bad loss anyway, but Cornell is clearly legit. Congrats to them. 2. Why are Bo Ryan's teams so mediocre in the tournament? They seem to have all the key ingredients: good guard play, good shooting and a very low turnover total. Still, they never seem to amount to much in the tourney. 3. I will never cease to be amazed at how MSU's reputation as a "physical team" allows them to reach in and go over the back like crazy.

But Tourney DEATH would have been worth it to see THAT epic collapse (up 9 with 2 minutes, with N. Iowa waiting in the wings).

I really think Cornell can run with them. They ran with Kansas for 38 minutes at Phog Allen. Albeit, Kansas lost to Northern Iowa, but still proved themselves to be a damn good team. If Cornell gets out of the box early like they have been, and they play their own game, Kentucky could have some problems. Kentucky is prone to frustration and inexperience. Cornell is a veteran team that has been playing together for years. I think it could be a very interesting game.

No one posted on the games till halfway thru the 2nd set...and an MSU nailbiter turns it into 40 posts, instantly.

I almost died when I saw MSU hit down that 3, don't worry guys. MSU is gonna lose next, everytime a team is close in a victory, they always lose the next game.

Damn, if A & M could just stop turning over every other possession, they'd be winning by 20 rather than letting this game get tied. And is Pitt ever going to show up?
