Sunday NCAA tourney open thread
A few thoughts:
1. I remember thinking that our loss to Alabama was awful because Bama had lost to Cornell. It may have been a bad loss anyway, but Cornell is clearly legit. Congrats to them.
2. Why are Bo Ryan's teams so mediocre in the tournament? They seem to have all the key ingredients: good guard play, good shooting and a very low turnover total. Still, they never seem to amount to much in the tourney.
3. I will never cease to be amazed at how MSU's reputation as a "physical team" allows them to reach in and go over the back like crazy.
Why o why are none of these close games in Buffalo? I really wanted to hear Gus Johnson blow a gasket.
give up 80 freakin points to Cornell? They had 43 on em at half. Didn't we score 43 over the entire game in crisler?
But Tourney DEATH would have been worth it to see THAT epic collapse (up 9 with 2 minutes, with N. Iowa waiting in the wings).

My favorites are NICE and GOT IT
You can't beat the "HAHA"
God damnit MSU
So... Cornell vs Kentucky... That's gonna be good...
I really think Cornell can run with them. They ran with Kansas for 38 minutes at Phog Allen. Albeit, Kansas lost to Northern Iowa, but still proved themselves to be a damn good team.
If Cornell gets out of the box early like they have been, and they play their own game, Kentucky could have some problems. Kentucky is prone to frustration and inexperience. Cornell is a veteran team that has been playing together for years. I think it could be a very interesting game.
No one posted on the games till halfway thru the 2nd set...and an MSU nailbiter turns it into 40 posts, instantly.
Well, we all hate MSU.
I fucking hate MSU. They could beat N. Iowa and OSU.
Could, but I got OSU over MSU even with Lucas healthy.. Diebler hitting 3's is tough to beat
Frustrating to think that the axis of evil could have all been knocked out this weekend, and now one of them has an excellent shot at the Final Four. At least ND is out.
I could see MSU and OSU losing in the Seet 16. Tennesse has already beat Kansas and Kentucky and N. Iowa is just good.
I'm going to be rooting hard for Northern Iowa. I dislike Tennessee only about 0.05% less than I dislike OSU.
Twitter's blowing up with news that Kalin Lucas tore his Achilles' tendon.
Jordan Crawford is a smooth basketball player, tell me again why players like him leave Detroit, and the state of Michigan?
I almost died when I saw MSU hit down that 3, don't worry guys. MSU is gonna lose next, everytime a team is close in a victory, they always lose the next game.
...vs. NMS?
Sparty saw his shadow and now we get at least five more days of Spartybragging.
Is it me or does it look like Sparty is gonna be hiding next week?
Damn, if A & M could just stop turning over every other possession, they'd be winning by 20 rather than letting this game get tied.
And is Pitt ever going to show up?
Lucas out with an Achilles tendon injury, probably for the year.
