Not enough emphasis on defense in Michigan practices?

Submitted by Erik_in_Dayton on
I occasionally check in on gobluemichiganwolverineblogspot even though the grammar and syntax my head hurt, makes. They posted this in the not too distant past while arguing that Coach Rodriguez doesn't place enough emphasis on defense: "We have told the story multiple times of Coach Robinson trying to use a coachable moment to teach a defender and then get shut down by Coach Rod. The same thing happened to Coach Shafer. Why so? The philosophy has been that the defense exists to improve the offense." http://gobluemichiganwolverine.blogspot.com I'm wondering what people think of this. Do these guys have much credibility? Has anyone heard anything similar or contradictory? I'm a huge Coach Rod fan, so I'm not looking to bash him here...

I have a lot of issues with their site, but my main gripe is the way the profess to be experts, on the inside and then word their posts and insights to basically talk out of both sides of their mouths. That way, they are always right. And they can brag in a 'i told you so' tenor. Look at how they addressed the made rumor from Ninja Football about RR going to Tenn. I make predictions all the time on games. I dont pull shit like Kansas might cover. Unless Kansas State does.....and then show up the next day bragging about how smart I am. If they were less cheecky on how they presented themselves and their alleged inside info, I would respect them so much more.

I've been watching Michigan football for a tousand years but it has been in the last 2 that I've learned, coaching defense, catching punts, and teaching a QB more than 1 play, are all extremely difficult.
