What is your direct concern instead of the vague "concern" you just posted about? Is there really a tradition on the goal post color? People on this board know every damn tradition that has ever existed in Michigan football. Look through the thread and count the posts where people had no idea the goalposts were white so how strong of a tradition was it? Or was it nothing at all and you're being a pearl clutcher for no reason at all.

My real concern is that this is a slippery slope. Have you ever had a girlfriend try and move into your house? It always starts with something small, like a toothbrush, then a few outfits, and then before you know it she's picking out drapes and throw pillows. I am concerned at the idea of Harbaugh reaching above his power and making decisions the AD should be making. Last week when the Jordan brand announcement was made, it mentioned that MJ and Harbaugh talked on the phone and came to that agreement. Don't you think the AD should be doing that? Even if he went and ran it by Hackett, don't you think that's interesting that Nike/Jordan reached out to Harbaugh and not Hackett?

To be clear, I'm not saying that any of the decisions he has made so far are bad. Just that she sheer number of changes that are being made in the football program, and whether Harbaugh should be the one making of some of them, is worth keeping an eye on.

Of course Hackett had a say in the Jordan deal.  It's all for hype. Harbaugh is the hot item right now and Jordan is GOAT, the pair is media magic.

It cracks me up (not necessarily you either) but all the people last year saying they would eat hair and whatnot if that meant getting Harbaugh, but get bent out of shape when he gets a little control. We are in such a better situation now.

I conclude that people just like to bitch.

Well I think Hackett was obviously consulted on the decision. It's Harbaugh's program but I don't buy him not getting with Hackett on it. Also what makes a better headline Michael Jordan calls Jim Harbaugh for new apparel deal people from all over think it's interesting or unique or whatever. If the headline reads Michael Jordan calls Jim Hackett everyone outside the Michigan sphere of sports goes who the hell is Jim Hackett. Over the last 7 years Michigan football is 46-41 there needs to be changes wholesale changes and Harbaugh is the one to make them. Trust him he has only been a winner. Also comparing him to a woman trying to weasel into your house is a weird and unfair and mildly ridiculous comparison.

field goals will be interesting, maize posts on maize colors in the stands. Reminds me of why in baseball they always have a green color in center field so the batter can see the white ball more clear.

Solid as a guy who hit 78% of his kicks, all from close range because he wasn't a distance guy. At all.

I'm sorry. Rivas? Solid as a rock? Step away from the SuperGuide and remember what it was like watching that guy kick a football. And, of course, a guy who started for four years on teams that scored tons of points is probably going to have a leg up in setting records.

You do have a better memory than I do since I was a 8-11 year old when he played and you were literally on the field so I guess I was wrong. I remember him being really good and always making kicks but I don't remember him booting ones like Epstein did at MSU that one time.
