CB Tony Butler Decommits from Pitt, UM a Fav

Looks like he just decommitted from Narduzzi.   (Narduzzi can't recruit jokes go here).

Have seen a few places OSU is his "dream  offer" but not sure he will get one.  UM has been the rumored landing spot per the crystal balls for a long while.

He only has 1 visit set up before his senior yr.  To UM.

Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward cornerback Tony Butler told 247Sports on Friday afternoon that he was decommitting from Pittsburgh. "Starting from scratch," Butler added.

The only thing Butler has scheduled moving forward is a return visit to Michigan on July 15.  "That'll be my last visit before the start of the season."

Butler would be UM's sole recruit from Ohio in this year's class.

Trieu has a pretty in depth piece on Butler here from April if interested.

Dele Harding was just CB to West Virginia. Does anybody know whats up with this? There was talk last week about him but I thought he said he was sticking with Michigan.

Uhh. Not in these kids lifetime.

Go from 2005 forward (again these kids cognizant state of mind) and WVA has a better record than UM. Ironically largely due to  rich rod's effect at both schools.    7 of the 10 years with 9+ wins, including 3 yrs with 11 wins - 4 BCS bowls, etc.

It's not so cut and dried.  We have tradition, Harbaugh, helmets, academics, stadium I get it...but the view of a 30-40 yr old is diff then a 17 year old right now because UM has been a non performer since 2006.  That said Holgorsen has done a nice Brady Hoke impression in his first 4 years there with 1 good year early and mediocrity since.  But the last 5 years of rich rod and first 3 of stewart was a very nice run rivaling anything UM did over a 8 year span since the 1980s.

Harding is also from Maryland so WVA is a lot closer for his family to see games if for some reason he decommited.

Michael Ferns in fact made just this decision not long ago.

exactly how good is he and if absolutely honest would this staff want him? I'm not saying we wouldn't as I'm asking a genuine question. I can say I haven't seen any film on him and I'm not sure why given that he's been on board so long. I just haven't looked at him and I've heard he doesn't talk to the new staff often so that could be their way of saying they'd rather have the spot open.

and Scout is quoting him as saying "Arizona State is my number one school right now," but the always infallible Crystal's Balls are saying Michigan?

That's what I'd expect from Crystal.
