OT - Tom Beaver leaving Scout
Tom had a post on the scout insider board today letting everyone know that his 2 year contract with scout expired today and they are not offering to renew or extend. It'll be interesting to see if scout adds someone to take his place, but in the mean time you may see some former scout posters on other boards. I'm considering a move to rivals myself, but I'll wait to see how it plays out. How good are the insiders on rivals and 247?
The posters who always say "why pay for the info when it's here in days/hours" don't seem to take into account that if people weren't paying for the info it probably never would never see the light of day. The mainstream media won't fund the recruiting news industry (note what happened with TomVH's gig with ESPN going from Michigan focused to regional). If the advertising dollars were there, then they would and the pay sites wouldn't exist. So realize, if the pay sites didn't exist you probably would be getting less than a 1/4 of the info you get now.
So instead of mocking people who pay for info, perhaps you should be thanking them.
