OT: Coastal Carolina installing aqua "Surf Turf"
Looks like Coastal Carolina is adding themselves to the list of schools without green football fields. Boise State, Eastern Michigan, Eastern Washington, and Central Arkansas (I believe) are the other Division 1 schools with non-green gridirons.

Orchard Lake St. Mary's has a red field
Barrow High School in Barrow, Alaska (the nothernmost point in the United States) has blue field. The city of Barrow sits upon permafrost and there are no roads that lead to Barrow. You must travel via the air to get there or you'd have to go offroading on ice.
more!
Best mascot ever.
Obvioulsy.
Barrow is about the same distance to China, Iceland, or Japan as it is to San Francisco, Denver, or Minneapolis. And they have HS football!
What will Les do for between-play snacks?
I thought the NCAA made a rule that said no more non-green fields or something. Guess I was wrong.
And that may only be for D-1A, I do remember something about that rule.
I do wonder if they're going to have an issue with birds diving into it like Boise St., especially since they're basically at Myrtle Beach.
I didn't say death though...
it looks like just another field to me otherwise. . .
save for the product recently, but that's all good now
why not
Coastal Carolina been playing well in the past few years Moglia is coaching the boys down in conway i might go check them out if i ever get a chance.
a bowtie and cummerbund of that same color. I felt sorrier for the bridesmaids.....
That one's not too bad. Sort of looks like classic astro turf.
Central Arkansas has a damn strong field.
...your move.

Which seems a little dumb to me. Schools with a lot of green probably should avoid this.
