Best restaurants in Ann Arbor? v.2015

Submitted by diag squirrel on

Will be spending a long weekend in Ann Arbor. It's been a while and Ann Arbor has a thriving food scene, so I'm sure I'm out of the loop. Your recommendations are appreciated.

My westside centric opinions:

Dimo's makes the best donuts and serves good diner food. The owner is quite a character as well. Definitely worth a try if you're looking for dinner on the west side of town, and don't want to spring for Zingerman's Roadhouse.

Wolverine brews the best beer in town (excluding JP, which is kinda a niche brewery, but awesome) and is a fun place to visit.

Metzger's still exists out on Zeeb road. Just had the Zwiebelrostbraten (Prime Rib topped with gravy and fried onions) on my birthday, and it was AMAZING.

I'm in the pro Zingerman's Roadhouse camp. Their execution isn't always perfect, but they always use top notch ingredients and their mac and cheese is consistently awesome. It's pricy, but not as expensive as some of the downtown establishments.
