WTF is this guy thinking? I can honestly say I have never seen something this stupid. I don't see how he could slash his own goalie, but the worse part is that he breaks his stick and then skates off after words.

He should be banned for life...

it was the worse thing i've seen on the ice in a long time, but hes not going to get banned for it. i'm pretty sure that hes going to be suspended for it. now if he were to have hit a player from the other team like that he would banned for life along with criminal charges being brought against him.

While I agree that it is incredibly stupid, under which rule could he be suspended for it (unless you mean suspended by the team; not the NHL)?

that there isn't a rule for what he did. but he is still resposible for his stick and what he does with it on the ice. hence the reason why you see high sticking penelties when a guy is falling and his stick comes up and catches a player in the face.
in my post i only said he would suspended but i never said by who. odds are you're right and the team will suspend him for this. but don't be surprised is the NHL jumps in and does something. remember there wasn't a rule against a player facing a goalie and waving their sitck infront of the goalie. but sean avery did it and the next day there was a rule change....

Dumbest thing I have ever seen.

He skated off like he didn't know he did it, but how could he not feel his stick hit the goalie on its way to the goalpost? Think what would have happened if he hit someone not waearing a mask.

Ballard is a good guy and definitely did not mean to hit his goalie. Is he an idiot for doing it? Yes, 100%. I think he should get punished by his own team for this incident and not the NHL.

faces was priceless.
Hockey players have their own discipline system, they'll take care of it.

That was honestly one of the most inexplicable, most shocking things I've ever seen in sports.
