MGoBlog needs to put together a New Email Offensive.  Something from Iraq-Shock and Awe.

Or from Vietnam and The Great Classic--  Rolling Thunder . . .

And absolutely CARPET Bomb The Schlizz and his office with Emails.

SHOW--        The POWER  . . .

KNOW--        The POWER  . . .

Ugh... Hoke CANNOT stay another year. He'd be a lame duck and that's a terrible way for our program to go. If we extend him even 1 more year the fan base will revolt and recruits will know it's just another year anyway and we'll trash 2 consecutive classes. That leaves either a longer extension (no chance) or a firing/resigning/demotion at year end. Those are the only options.

but I don't think this has anything to do with if/when he will hire a new AD and/or Hoke's fate.I believe he is saying the current environment of college sports, in particular football, is highly emotional and therefore, can force a university to make an impetuous decision just to please fans/donors. The question is: is that in the best interest of the student-athlete? It seems to me his objective is to establish a prudent process, one that aligns the university standards with athletic department and having decision being made not just soley on the currrent state of the program or opinions of fans...this is encouraging to see from a President

I'm glad Schlissel is the President.  Football may still suck for now but pieces like this reflect very well on UM as a whole.  Better than having a President hoping the coach doesn't fire him.  Talk about insanity.

Not saying keep him or not but Hoke has not been a total failure if you count improved academic performance

this IS having it Settled On The Field.  Except that it is possible that MICHIGAN will STILL be 6-6 after this, and bowlgame eligible.

One can get a sense as to How Pivotal H-Mry is, at this point.  Which is actually--  kind-of Exciting  . . .

Here's the thing many of you thinking Hoke might deserve to be retained next season are failing to realize: he has one year left on his contract. He either has to be fired or extended before next season. He can't be coaching and, more importantly, recruiting next season without an extension. So if he's back for next year, he's back for the year after that. Because honestly, how many coaches are fired in the same year they get an extension? That just looks really bad. So either cut our losses now, or sign on for the long haul with proven mediocrity.

The tea leaves don't read well for the Fire-Hoke-Pay-Harbaugh gang. We have an academic as Pres who has people debating how much he values big time football, and an interim AD with no tangible end date who might be hiring our next coach - or deciding to retain Brady.
