WSJ article by Jason Gay on Schlissel's
remarks about collegiate athletics. Not sure he will help our cause to get a new AD quickly or replace Hoke. This may embolden Schlissel to sit tight and give Hackett and Hoke at least another year.

MGoBlog needs to put together a New Email Offensive. Something from Iraq-Shock and Awe.
Or from Vietnam and The Great Classic-- Rolling Thunder . . .
And absolutely CARPET Bomb The Schlizz and his office with Emails.
SHOW-- The POWER . . .

I'm glad Schlissel is the President. Football may still suck for now but pieces like this reflect very well on UM as a whole. Better than having a President hoping the coach doesn't fire him. Talk about insanity.
Not saying keep him or not but Hoke has not been a total failure if you count improved academic performance

this IS having it Settled On The Field. Except that it is possible that MICHIGAN will STILL be 6-6 after this, and bowlgame eligible.
One can get a sense as to How Pivotal H-Mry is, at this point. Which is actually-- kind-of Exciting . . .

Excellent point, the gravity of which I had not appreciated. However, can his contract be extended for merely one year? Is that ever done? Doing so makes the contract extension issue less of an issue. The effect of a one-year extention on recruiting, however, can seemingly only be bad.

The tea leaves don't read well for the Fire-Hoke-Pay-Harbaugh gang. We have an academic as Pres who has people debating how much he values big time football, and an interim AD with no tangible end date who might be hiring our next coach - or deciding to retain Brady.
