SB Open Thread

The SB Team will play ASU tonight at 6pm in the Tempe Regional.  The winner will play tomorrow for the Regional Championship.  The loser will play later tonight.

In the Tallahassee Regional, FSU beat South Florida 2-0 in 11 innings.  So FSU moves to the Championship tomorrow in the double elimination tourney.  The winner of our regional will play the winner of the Tallahassee Regional.

Our pitching needs to settle in and throw strikes.  Now this seems rather trivial but our pitching has been inconsistant.  We need to get the ball to strike ratio up.  This will keep the hitters off balance and then the pitchers can take chances with getting the batters to chase balls outside of the strike zone.

The NCAA can really kiss my ass for putting Michigan in this regional.

If they don't come back and win this game and do win the 11pm elimination game that will end at 2am at the latest, they have to come back the next day and win TWO to advance.

it is a shame that the ASU girls are really putting on a good show today.  The town, staff, Alumni and students should be there to show the team support.

I understand that ASU is not Michigan but still.  People can still come watch some good ball.

Haylie pitched a good, but not great game.  It was good enough to win today.  The bats are still a problem....too inconsistant.

Now we have to play again tonight and win.  Then back tomorrow to win 2 against ASU for the Championship.

We aren't going to put 5 on the board against Escobedo.  One small mistake by Wagner and a great swing by the ASU hitter turns a 1-1 game into a 4-1 game, and it was pretty much unwinnable as soon as that ball went over the fence.

Tough to watch. A month ago this team was practically unbeatable, since then they've been a shell of their former selves. Hopefully they can channel their inner LA Kings and rediscover past form when faced with elimination.

I'd also love to see Romero stay above .500. One more non-hit and she drops below, I think.

This is one of Hutch's most talented teams in recent years, but for some reason seems to lack grit or something.  Its now time to leave it all on the field.  Hopefully tonight's game goes well.
