The negativity about Coach Harbaugh is irrational.

Here me out.... Through his first 4 years Harbaugh is 38-14. Saban was barely better than that at Lsu and Bama after his first 4 years. Harbaugh has a better record than B Kelly, Dabo and Dantonio did at the sane time. Being pissed is normal and ok, but it doesn’t mean we should want a new coach. Players have to be faster, stronger and more aggressive... all there is to it. Wake up people... it’s coming... this thing is going to be rolling. Cheer up, a new year is upon us.

PS - Be careful what you wish for.

I don't want to fire the guy. I honestly don't think Michigan can do any better than him. But something has to change. I just don't know what it is.

Sometimes I don't even think the problem is Harbaugh. I think the problem goes a hell of a lot deeper than that. There seems to be some core fundamental aspect of Mchigan football that is wrong and has been wrong for a long time. It hasn't mattered who the coach is, this program has just flopped and shat all over itself in every prime-time, put up or shut-up, win this and you're truly back, big game type of moment. Carr (post-Tressel), RichRod, Hoke, Harbaugh, hasn't mattered who is coaching.

Something seems to be rotten within the whole core of the program, and it still hasn't been ripped out. Those coaches didn't have issues winning big games at their previous stops. Harbaugh especially. The guy didn't just forget how to coach. There's something deeper.

What has taken over is self-promotion, hype, and me-first attitude....ironically led (unintentionally) by the HC.

The sense of playing for the honor and excellence of “Michigan” has lost its shine... Players, coaches all act like they’re doing us all a favor...

This is in complete contrast to the humble open culture of the BBall team.  If you look in history, the best teams in both have often been the most humble and hard working TEAMs.

Harbaugh’s done pretty well here but there are definitely things to criticize about his tenure. That 1-9 stat against top 10 teams is indicative that he can’t win the big game.

He’s won some fairly big ones but at the end of the day unless you’re beating OSU the season is most likely not ending in any hardware.

The team’s performance these last two games was abysmal. Full stop. It’s one thing to lose a closely contested game to a good team. It’s another to get embarrassed on national television.

Overall, the performance is pretty good and frankly I’m not sure who we could get that’s better at this point but we didn’t think we were getting pretty good when we hired him. Hopefully, next year we beat OSU. If we have another 10-win season and beat OSU I’d be tickled with happiness.

I hear ya, and yes they were similar record-wise but Saban won two SEC titles in those years and a national title in year 4 at LSU and was markedly better after 4 years at Bama (one national title and two undefeated SEC regular seasons).. Harbaugh has done none of that here.

However, I do agree all this nonsense is irrational. Like he said in his post game presser, at the top (or near it) just need to get over it and we're damn close. Yeah, it sucks to finish the season with losses to OSU and 1-3 in bowl games but we're not Alabama or OSU (we have standards, academic and moral).

As much as we hate to admit it, this turnaround is taking longer than we expected, and that does suck big time. But I wouldn't say he's not making progress.. no one wants to hear it but those 7 years of RR and Hoke, and even Carr's last year made it pretty tough to just jump in and get going full speed. A few unexpected bumps along the road (recruiting misses and some bad coaching hires/not fired soon enough) but if you told everyone in December of 2014 that we'd have three 10-win seasons in the next four years we'd all be ecstatic.

I think Harbaugh is one of the best 10 coaches in the Nation (I think he is around number 10).  He has forgotten more about football than the collective Football IQ of MGoBlog.  He is hard working, innovative, and a good teacher of fundamentals.  NFL teams covet him because he can almost instantly make a team competitive.

And despite what many fools believe, we are also not at all likely to get someone better.

The problem is that the gap between the top 2 or 3 coaches and numbers 4 to 10 is big.

I think Harbaugh could be even better were he not so stubborn in some areas.  I cannot understand seeing so many TEs in games when you have Black, DPJ, and Collins on the sideline, for example.  Running the ball into stacked boxes.  Being his own OC.

I also think his "classiness" hurts us.  Drevno stayed around too long.  Pep is still here.  In Life, the Tough Choice is usually the best/correct one.
