what do the scalpers do on days like this? Stand by the stadium and let people give them their extra tickets, and then give them to people who don’t have them?

Almost an ideal situation:
A Rutgers win or close lose will:
1. annoy the MSU fandom and send them to even higher levels of rage about the OC.
2. probably ensure Chris Ash will be back - he has already declared that he's keeping his OC.

During their 3-9 season I bought a ticket on the 40 for 9 bucks to see Rutgers, we were either off or at night or I was confident I could get home in time for our kickoff. Rutgers was close to being the worst Big Ten ever that year and I was actually there to see them.
I had no one in front or behind me and at least 15 seats were empty to my left. Weird scene with so many open holes in the stands. About 5 minutes before kickoff it looked like there were maybe 10,000 people in there. Maybe 50,000 showed up as the tailgates wound down.
I forgot they wore their alternate uni's for Rutgers too.
