End of Half Non-Call for Kicked Football Explained to Harbaugh

Saw this posted on Maize N Brew regarding the end of half football kicking non-call.

Harbaugh stated this is what he was told...

“I asked them ‘did they kick the ball?’, and the response from the umpire was ‘he didn’t mean to’. So I further asked, you know, ‘that doesn’t seem like a judgment call’, the ball was either kicked by one of their players or not in my opinion,” Harbaugh said.

For the integrity of the game, these refs need to start getting some serious discipline for this kind of B.S.

Prior to 2008, the NFL had an incidental facemask penalty, specifically for instances in which no intent was obvious. Nonetheless it was still called.

This is the sort of thing they can/should use the instant replay technology for: run it back, see what time the ball should have been ready for play, and put the time back on the clock.
