UMHoops Spain Game Highlights, Video, Recap ($$$)
UMHoops has posted a highlight video, full game video, and recap of Michigan's game vs the Madrid Generals.
All the information is behind a paywall. If you don't subscribe to UMHoops, you definitely should. It's great content, one of the best team blogs out there and best UM Basketball blog, and only $3 a month right now.
I've only watched the highlight video but things to note in it:
- First highlight is Teske hitting a long jumper.
- Poole looks exactly like you'd want/expect him to.
- Matthews hit a couple mid range shots and looked confident with his drives.
- Iggy and Johns were the two freshman who were notable. Iggy had a great game and looked great getting to the rim and finishing/creating. Johns looked active around the rim.
- Brooks looked pretty good. Maybe a candidate with Poole as a 2nd year break out Beilein guard.

From looking at the recap, a few negative notes:
- The whole team struggled with turnovers, but especially Matthews. Maybe the drives aren't as confident as I hoped. The only player without one was Davis, who had 12 points.
- The team was 0/8 from 3. Shooting remains an issue.
- There were some defensive lapses, mainly from JP, Livers and Johns. Johns is a freshman so understandable, but JP and Livers need to do better there, especially since Livers isn't the offensive threat JP is.

The turnovers are concerning but I am confident that a Beilein team will have that sorted out by the time the season starts. As for the 3 point shooting, it's a small sample size and I believe the 3 point line there is farther from the basket than NCAA regulations. And defensively, I don't think we can expect perfection just minimizing lapses, especially from players who add so much offensively.

You forgot Davis, who I think had 12 points and looked very quick, for his size, and quite active. Maybe a second year Teske size jump.

I pay for enough shit I don't really need, but thanks for the cliffs notes, or should I say Bambi notes.
