IF that happens (Peters transfers), then

Some will complain that Harbaugh can't evaluate talent.

Others will question why Peters would leave the QB whisperer coach.

Yet others will proclaim good riddance and then declare excitement about McCaffrey v. Milton for starting QB.

And a few level-headed people will wish the guy the best and continue to support the team, the team, the team.

We signed 7 of the top 8 players in MI and 3 of them didn't even make it to their sophomore year.

Indictment on the talent in this state more than anything imo.

Been saying it for years.  After moving to Texas and watching high school football here, I’d only recruit elite talent from Michigan and get out of state for the rest of the class.

2018 talent in MI was so bad that not even MSU took the #1 ranked guy who was an academic risk.

Maybe when high school football is viewed as more than just an after school activity across the state, things will change. The culture of HS football here is a joke compared to other places.

Or maybe "an after school activity" is how it should be viewed, everywhere.

Less big money poured into it wouldn't take away from the fun, IMO. And it would eliminate some of the Urban Meyers of the world.

It's a game, folks, not a way of life. Not a thing at which the vast majority of kids will ever earn a living, and something that leaves many physically damaged. A game.

Yup.  I said it before and I’ll say it again: an all-star team from Michigan couldn’t beat the elite teams from Texas.   Urban Meyer figured out how to win and it’s not with kids from Ohio and Michigan.  Look at OSU’s recruiting classes.

This feels a bit surprising, if for no other reason than I hadn't heard much about him but he seemed like the type of flier who blossoms after a year or two.

Wish him luck.

Get coached up by and elite defensive staff with huge NFL connections (especially your position coach) and get a ton of academic support toward the most highly-regarded degree in the state

~OR~

Get some PT at a program that puts guys in the league from time to time, and a fairly ordinary degree ... but at least it's nearer to home, I guess?

Curious tradeoff, especially if your shot at the league is indeed being a later bloomer.

Eh, just because a player goes to a school like Michigan doesn't mean that he's guarantee to get drafted. There are ton of undrafted Michigan players. If he wants to play in the NFL, he's better off transferring to a smaller school where path to PT is quicker. NFL scouts will find talent regardless of the school. I mean Carson Wentz got drafted #2 overall from playing for NDSU which is a FCS school.

With all due respect DIB - get your degree quickly then transfer.  Thank me later in life.  It will pay off many times over.

With Hinton, Smith, and Woods coming in next year, I really don't think we have to be too worried about the depth at that position for the future
