You guys are putting a lot of hope in a guy coming back from an ACL injury. I don't think he'll be the same player until next season, but I hope I'm wrong.

to be holding back, maybe due to youth, inexperience, lack of talent, i don't know what. hopefully JMFR brings it soon and this defense carries us the rest of the way.

Seriously guys?? Calm the eff down. This was a very good defensive performance. They had one good drive with 75 of their yards (and most of their 3rd down conversions). Outside of that they had 206 yards on 9 possesions with two turnovers and two field goals. I'll take that kind of performance any day; one bad defensive possesion a game is good with me.
Yeah the defense played bend not break, but that was the gameplan. Looked like Hoke wanted a slow game (see no passes for Gardner in the first) so that the team would remain settled.
For those of you complaining about Countess...REALLY? He has 4 picks this year and got beat on one play (which they didn't even convert). Any other catches in his area are usually by play-calling and he makes the tackle dang near immediately. He has been fantastic.
Have some faith in this defensive coaching staff and how they call the game. It worked. Mattison is a top defensive coordinator in the nation and turned the worst Michigan defensive in history into a top 20 defense in the nation in one year.
