Bad night to be a couch in East Lansing
Don't forget to visit the Red Cedar Message Board if you really want to enjoy another classic Sparty Noooooooooo moment.

Forgot about that...nothing like the smell of tear gas in EL

Is it possible for the smell of tear gas to overwhelm the smell of cow manure in EL?

They must be cutting and pasting from posts to ND message boards from earlier in the week.
Also, +1 as I forgot about the riot status page. Too funny!

That gig at Art Van might be nice tomorrow.

Immediately after the game, spartan friends starting calling. First thing they did was rationalize the loss away. Living in denial isn't a good thing.

Text from co-worker verbatim: "We had a game and made it close." Moral victory so typical of a Sparty.

There's been some angry shouting, but nothing crazy, no police sirens. I don't think that many Spartans expected to win before the game; perhaps that helped.
Of course things could be different over in Cedar Village. But in general there aren't fall riots in EL. Spring is the teargas season around here....

I thought you had to WIN to burn couches.
September 19th, 2009 at 8:37 PM ^
in EL, couch burning is an accepted activity for any occasion!

There is an old folktale in Lansing that tells about a poor, unfortunate student wo fell asleep drunk on one of those couch bed things. It snapped up and rolled him in, and when an angry mob came in, looking for a couch to burn one festive night, they grabbed the couch said drunk student was in and...

Bad night to be anything in East Lansing.

Is there ever a good one?

Bad night to be a coach in EL too...
Maybe they will move up to burning coaches in effigy...
of course, then a lot of their students would be asking "Where's Effigy"?

Notre Dame lost its best player to injury in the 1st half and still won. MSU fans can't make any excuses.
