Awful Announcing Shows Proof Te'o Talked About Girlfriend After "Learning" of Hoax
Blogging community continues to out-do the big media outlets:
Relevant highlights:
That awards show in Orlando took place December 6th. Two days later, Te'o was in New York City for the Heisman Trophy presentation, also televised on ESPN, on December 8th. That night, Te'o was interviewed on stage during the hour long show by Chris Fowler. In a transcript from that Heisman interview, it reveals Te'o voluntarily talking about his girlfriend passing away after he supposedly found out about the hoax. In fact, he told Chris Fowler the moment he found out about his girlfriend's passing was the one moment he would never forget during the season.
Chris Fowler: There were a lot of cameras around you this year, there was so much public sharing of very private moments, which shared moment will you never forget above the others?
Manti Te'o: I think I’ll never forget the time when I found out that, you know, my girlfriend passed away and the first person to run to my aid was my defensive coordinator, Coach [Bob] Diaco, and you know he said something very profound to me, he said ‘this is where your faith is tested.’ Right after that, I ran into the players’ lounge and I got on the phone with my parents – and I opened my eyes and my head coach was sitting right there. And so, you know, there are a hundred-plus people on our team and the defensive coordinator and our head coach took time to just go get one [of those players]. You know I think that was the most meaningful to me.

To add to the discussion of timelines a little bit, NBC News actually had its own take on some of the other timeline issues - (LINK)
Essentially, in addition to the questions regarding why Te'o would remain quiet for weeks after discovering the supposed hoax, they discuss the conflicting profiles of Te'o and this girlfriend with regards to the car accident, which ranged fron late 2011 to this past April, as well as varied accounts of when precisely she died, as most interviews pegged it at September 12th, within hours of his grandmother's death, or even days after. They do ask the right question in that surely these things would stick out in his mind when it came to time and date.

(anonymous) players are basically saying the team knew Te'o had never met the girl. They thought it was improper for Te'o to claim she was actually his girlfriend, but he loved the media attention so much that he ran with it. Sort of paints Te'o out to be an attention-whore, which, if true, would explain a lot about the story.

After reading all of he and his father's quotes, I can only come to 3 possible conclusions about Teo: 1) he is a coneiving opportunist with no moral scruples 2) he is a complete sociopath 3) he is gay and attempting to cover it
oh yeah...4) all of the above...

Worst thing is he can't even turn to alcohol. Poor, poor man... alone with his thoughts and not a bottle nor a bitch to be had.

I was thinking the exact same thing.
I wonder if they will though.... In March will the story still be current? They're usually pretty damn fresh with their shows in recent seasons.... like making the episode about something that happened that week or the week before.
I bet what they'll do is a general Catfish-inspired episode and incorporate Te'o.

This is pretty much his nail in the coffin. Absolutely no way Te'o survives this as the "victim" or a naive, lovesick adolescent male.
In all honesty pure silence is his best strategy, taking the "private life is private" route.

I'm truly starting to believe this charade was started and kept up to cover up a homosexual relationship.
