2014 QB Prospect
Check out Andrew Ford who's interview and highlights are up on Tremendous. Best looking '14 QB that I have seen and has a good relationship with Chad Henne. Also a lefty like Shane.

ESPN did a story on Ford and Adam Breneman earlier this year.

By 2014 our qb depth will be 4th year Bellomy, Shane, and ??? so unless they feel comfortable with only it's likely the coaches will take 2 on scholarship for that class. Last year they didn't take a qb, but we had established junior, sophomore, and freshmen qb's and Shane already committed for the year after, but circumstances are a little different this time around. Wonder if they take a pro style, and mobile qb, or just target the two most interested. Deshone Kizer is a spread qb who grew up a Michigan fan and looks extremely promising. physically in the same mold as Newton/Griffin. It'd be incredible to land them both.

I don't think they'd take two "developmental" prospects in a single class. (I'm assuming it wouldn't be easy to get a top-end prospect unless Morris somehow winds up looking overrated over the next year or so.)

Deshone looks to be one of the top qb prospects in the country, but every prospect is developmental, honestly

But I don't know that. If he comes here, great, but I'm not overly concerned with the 2014 class until the 2013 NSD comes and goes.

That reel is absurd for a sophomore, no? Looks extremely calm, poised, and decisive in the pocket. Wow.

Obviously you don't turn away talent, but I'd assume the strategy would be to try to look down Jayru via the Cass Tech pipeline (assuming he does develop as planned, has the academics, and all those other caveats). Let him be the second comming of Shane Morris where he encourages a lot of other top in state players to come to Michigan with him.
It could get interesting, in that we might find ourselves heavily invested in Jayru and turning away a 2014 kid, al la how we turned away Schutt for fear taking Schutt would cost us PeeWee. Assuming the staff likes Jayru and get hims onboard early, 2014 seems to be the prime year to take another Bellomy type.

he will be an interesting case to watch. He will have to play without Adam Breneman this year (torn ACL) so it will be a test to see how does without him. At least half (and probably more) his highlight reel are throws to Breneman.
His family has season tickets to Penn State football so it is likely he grew up a PSU fan. His high school coach, Jim Cantafio, coached Henne in high school and took a lot of heat as a PSU supporter sending Henne to Michigan because they had a better track record with QBs. With the sanctions and the arrival of Bill O'Brien though, everything has changed since then.
