dodger from behind feeds the crease, his defender couldn't find the ball. JU goes off stick shoulder for the win.

Good effort by blue today, but that one hurts

The lagging broadcast sure didn't help me either, I yelled an all out fuck at the top of my lungs.

Hope this broadcast isn't as shitty and laggy as it was today.

That really sucks.  But to play goal for goal with a team that's actually not that bad, away nonetheless, isn't bad for right now.  I don't think many actually thought we'd be even through regulation after how we've fared so far this season.

Now we need to beat Mercer.  And I think the guys have the confidence now that they can hang with and beat D1 squads.

one of the longest handshake lines i've seen.

I thought Laxx.tv did a great job. Did have some lag in the second half feed, but can't beat the price.

Boxscore is up at mgoblue.  No game story yet.  A few notable stats...

UM cleared the ball really well.  21 for 22.  That's a good sign considering it was a struggle last weekend.

UM had more ground balls than Jax.  For all you lacrosse neophytes, that's the equivalent of rebounds.  That's a huge step for them to win that battle against an established D1 squad.  They had been getting killed there previously.

15 saves for Weiss.  I think it's safe to say they really missed him in the first four games.  Does he make a difference against Denver (definitely not) or Penn State (probably not)?  Does he make the Detroit game a close one down the stretch (probably) and maybe stop the Air Force run (maybe)?

This is an encouraging step.  Jacksonville worked a pretty good Navy team a couple of weeks ago and hung close with the same Towson team that destroyed UM in the fall.  I honestly didn't expect them to be able to hang with Jacksonville for an entire game today.

Man up still has to get going.  0 fer again today.

The man up was horrible today. Basically turned it over within ten seconds each time. The clear was great because JU didnt ride, which probably made the game closer than it had to be. They were better 6v6 and in the open field, so some effort in the ride would have really helped them. Still a few sloppy passes that looked like were a result of the new throwing motion lattimore has them doing. But the stick protection appeared much better than I saw against UDM, so that is a plus. One thing I would like to see improve is guys are often just dodging down the alley without truly testing their middie defense. Often it looked like we had a step and could have pushed it inside, but instead just swung it to X. Part of that is forcing themselves to run the new offense. But when push came to shove and we did actually push to the goal (the end of each half) we scored both times. Would like to see us get a little more aggresive here.

I noticed the weird new throwing motion.  Why did Lattimore install that?  It looks like their hands are too close together and too tight to their body.

What is the upside to doing this?  It seems like there were a lot of unforced turnovers, which is really frustrating and wasteful.

This is one they could have had...
