Miami (not that Miami) -- The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly
The Good:
- Booboo really looked pretty good as our kickoff returner, and I think he should be the full-time returner. He wasn't spectacular, but he has obvious speed, good vision, and runs north/south, unlike our punt returner.
- Threet can apparently run.
- The defense seems like it has gelled pretty well.
- McGuffie seems to be a nosehair away from breaking a big one when he gets the ball (and everyone decides to actually hold their blocks).
- Shaw also looks pretty good.
- The option plays were actually there and didn't look entirely terrible.
- Special teams so far on the whole seem pretty solid, not many stupid penalties, etc.
- Graham played a lot better.
- Martin = MONSTER SACK SWEET
- Tacopants had about 20 receptions for a couple hundred yards.
The Bad:
- Tacopants had about 20 receptions for a couple hundred yards.
- The defense seems to be giving up a lot of rushing yards up the middle.
- Threet's apparent ability to run seems mostly based Miami not expecting him to run at all, not on his ability to run a good fake (hence the 2nd quarter on).
- Threet apparently completely forgot how to throw accurately
The Ugly:
- Stevie Brown is not only still on the team, but is a starting safety despite his apparent inability to tackle. How does that work out?
- As the season goes on, the running game is probably going to completely evaporate because (a) neither QB can throw accurately outside of 10 yards and the O-Line still sucks.
- Sheridan is probably the starter for next week.
- Stevie Brown.
- Shaw is apparently hurt.
- So is Ortmann. Crap.
- Donovan Warren should not return punts (why not have BooBoo return punts as well? Couldn't hurt, I don't think I've seen him on the field for the defense this year yet, anyway).
- What happened to Odoms? He seemed to do so much in the first quarter and then disappeared. Is he hurt?
- Stevie Brown again.

I've been a fan of Dwarr's ever since he layed out for that late INT against Illinois last year, and I do think he's gonna be great, but I DO NOT like him on returns. Seems to be a bad judge of "when I should return the ball..." and "when I should waive fair and not get vaporized." He's gonna get destroyed eventually. Booboo vote #2. (And weren't we gonna call him "boobs"?)

I've had a couple hamstring injuries, and it takes FOREVER to get back to 95-100%.
Given this is going to be a rough season, I'd rather see Shaw stay out and get thorough, proper rehab.

Amen. Just give me 7 ugly wins and I'll be a happy man
