take away those turnovers and that's pretty impressive

i'd be a sweet NBA player if you'd put me in and ignore all my turnovers (and misses (and per-minute/possession stats)).

take away those points and assists and it is not that impressive.

He's playing because Steve Blake got injured. More playing time to come :)

He didn't exactly look good out there, but not too bad for his first NBA minutes.
Luckily for Morris, the two guys ahead of him are either old or super fucking old so as the season goes on, he should get more minutes. If either of those guys gets just a little banged up, the condensed season will mean missing more time, meaning more PT for Morris. Hopefully Steve Blake's bruised hand is pretty bad (both for Morris and because I hate the Lakers).

the better michigan guys do in the pros the easier it'll be to get NBA bound talent here! really pulling for the guy

Darius just needs to settle down a bit. Both of his turnovers were completely self-induced, he just dribbled his way into a turnover. He's a playmaker, but not enough of one yet at the pro-level to warrant the ball as much as in college. But he'll settle in, and in a couple years he might be the NBA playmaker he was in AA.

Can anyone confrim or deny if his left hand ever touched the ball?

Funny you say that, but at one point he brought it up the court, then drove to the left, probably 5 hard dribbles with his left hand, before passing it off.
It's probably not a strength, but it's a lot better.
