College Gameday and Early Games Open Thread 10/08
College Gameday is at the Red River Shootout this week. Coming up after the next break they'll be talking about Michigan.
The early games are mostly lame except for the main game:
- Oklahoma-Texas (ABC)
- Minnesota at Purdue (ESPN)
- Louisville at North Carolina (ESPN2)
- Maryland at Georgia Tech (ESPNU)
- Illinois at Indiana (BTN 2:30, so kind of a late afternoon game)

This is why we could go 12-0. Maybe we aren't as good as Oklahoma, LSU, or Alabama, but that's irrelevant when the big ten is so far down this year.

Indiana 10-0 vs Illinois! Maybe vowel enthusiast Nathan Scheelhaase isn't that scary after all.

So at the risk of speaking too soon, Illinois really reminds me of UM last year. Good offense capable of big plays, but the D also seems to like to give up yards. At least they get sacks, which is something our D-coordinator last year didn't have in his defensive philosophy last year.

Dusty Kiel is not a good quarterback.

Illinois really is all over the place, right as I am about to make a comment on being unimpressed with their Defense they go get a touchdown. Still look very inconsistant, pretty confident we can hit some big plays again this year.

I cannot imagine the world of hurt that Clemson is about to bring to BC.

Who else was sick of that song IU plays after every first down last year? They sure played it a lot. I looked it up; it's the first bars of a march called National Emblem, FWIW. My daughter and I are rooting for IU, so we pump our fists up and down.
Maryland's Danny O' just threw a ridiculous pass on 4th down w/ 2-1/2 minutes left for the incompletion. It looks like some kid who downed a 1/2 gallon of rainbow sherbert threw up on the Maryland shoulder pads.
