Props to France. They showed a lot of quality play this tournament.
Yeah, that's a big part of what's gotten me so into this tournament. Unlike the 90s, when there were only 2, maybe 3 teams with a chance to win, there are now a solid handful. USA, Germany, and Brazil were the pre tourney favorites, but France showed that they were a legit contender, as have both Sweden and Japan. Really great to see the parity, and it makes the USA reaching the Final all the more impressive.
Like the announcers said, I think they are here to stay in terms of bieng a top nation in womens soccer.
France played very well, the US did an excellent job to hold on and then strike when they had the opportunity. Also Rapinoe is amazing.
Sweden/Japan underway. Sweden obviously with a substantial height advantage, but they can't get too enchanted with that fact unless they want to end up like Germany.

Japan is playing the best soccer in the tournament. But I think the US will win - they can defend well enough and of course have Solo backing them up, and just need to capitalize on crosses and set pieces.
