Other than Denard, the main thing I remember about this game is IU converting 3rd and longs at will. Their receivers are wide open without a Michigan defender in the same time zone as them. After this game and for the rest of the season, the Hoosiers looked like the Hoosiers again.
How bout that 99 yard drive IU had? Fuck.
she is so awful.
man, this game makes it so apparent how much the offense wasn't the problem.
Well, it wasn't the biggest problem . . . but against better defenses, it tended to either not perform well at all, or not do much until we were well behind in the second half.
Junior Hemmingway's catch on the game winning drive is the thing that stands out most to me from that game. "The db was up at first but he came down and I was like ohh man, ohh man."
Well thats just about to happen
Good timing. I don't get the Big 10 network unfortunately.
What a joke this defense was...
This game took about 2 years off my life, though that's nothing compared to the decade I lost watching the Illinois game.
It took at least 15 years away from most of us, I think.
In my case, it was mostly due to shouting various creative profanities in the direction of GERG.
The last three years have felt like at least twenty...
in retrospect I'm not so sure. A lot of the old school supporters, I think--perhaps rightly--saying that if it required that much sturm and drang just to take down lousy IU. . .
Lousy IU yeah but for them it was sort of an up year where they could at least compete in some games. It's sort of sad they are never towards the top of the Big Ten
They didn't really compete in that many games unless you count barely escaping Arkansas State and 8 loss Purdue.
IU's offense never looked that deadly again against the rest of the Big Ten.

I remember me and many other fans trying to justify our defense getting carved by Chappel and Doss after the game. We all thought that they had a legitimate passing attack and they would surprise some people during the year. Boy were we wrong! This game really showed the incompetance of our defense in 2010.
many of us tried to excuse giving up 37 to UMass. The shine of an undefeated record can make a fan act a tad irrationally. The Sparty game put a stop to most of the GERG rationalizations.
After single score losses to NW and Iowa, fans were all "look out wiscy!" and then...

<br>Such is life for IU football fans
How is losing by 7 to Michigan, by 3 to Northwestern, and by 5 to Iowa not competing (along with the close wins against Ark State and Purdue)?
We've claimed missed national championships based on those kinds of numbers. Competing does not winning make.
Man, it was hard to watch the defense in that game. However, i was impressed with our running game, especially Vincent Smith. Hemingway was also spectacular in that game as well. I think that this year is when he'll finally break-out and possibly work his way into the 2nd round of the draft, just hope he doesn't get injured, which has been his krypotonite his whole career. He's one of my favorite players to watch.
