Dave Brandon Question Suggestions

Submitted by MGoShoe on
I'm attending the U-M Club of Washington's annual congressional breakfast Wed morning. Dave Brandon and MSC will be there. Your suggestions for a question to either are solicited. Snark away if you must, but serious inquiries will get serious consideration. Edit: Brandon bowed out last night. Good venting below anyhow. Met Congressman Jon Runyan. Big dude.

Don't get me wrong, there were many great moments 2000 - 2010.  2006 among the best.  But the overall decade saw a slight decline from being a perennial power house.

Not to pick on 2006, but a closer look at the results shows Michigan beat one nationally ranked team all year.  Notre Dame.  Who although ranked #2 at the time, finished the year ranked 17th.  Notre Dame suffered a similar fate that year, they had a good record, but all of their wins came against unranked teams and all of their losses came to ranked teams (all by 20 points or more), except for #19 Purdue.

I'll admit that jealousy may be a factor in my disdain for MSU hoops/Izzo.  Along with acceptance that Izzo currently enjoys a recruiting advantage based on a decade of success, media darlingism, and nearly non-existant academic standards.  You can be as proud/arrogant as you want.  When Michigan wants to become GREAT...When they want to become a team who is FAVORED over Duke and Kansas...Michigan is going to have to start winning recruiting battles in its backyard.  For that to happen MSU is going to have to take a step back(and yes, there is already blood in the water in that regard).  If you choose to ignore this fact, bully for you.  Enjoy your arrogant self-righteousness.

Did you enjoy a sense of power when you let Rich Rod twist in the wind all of last year?  Why did you stretch his firing into a two day process while the media ran with misinformation?  Was your national coaching search fun?  If you knew you would end up with Hoke would you still have fired Rich Rod?
