Do you ever brine your butt?…

Do you ever brine your butt?  I usually give it 8-12 hours in a salt and molasses brine.  Then pat dry and rub before going on the smoker at 225-250 for about an hour per lb.  Usually, I'll throw two 8 pounders on the smoker around midnight and they'll be done around 5pm the next day.

Are you suggesting that not…

Are you suggesting that not hiring a black coach or AD 15 of 15 opportunities isn't somewhat worse than 3 of 3?  Assuming 15% of the potential candidates are black (roughly the % of US population), wouldn't random chance result in 2+ of 15 opportunities resulting in a black hire.  Zero of 15 could be interpreted to suggest bias (conscious or unconscious).  Zero of 3 seems to more plausibly be attributed to chance.

I’m fairly certain that…

I’m fairly certain that excluding the OSU athletic department allotment, all of the tickets bought by those in red were also available to UM fans.  If OSU fans are willing to buy them and UM fans are not, what does that say?  I won’t criticize season ticket holders who can’t make it to all the games.  They’re already making a sizable contribution to the UM athletic department.  I also hope no one who is being critical of the season ticket holders watched the game on TV.

It's a bit pricey, but Weber sells at 37.5" 'The Ranch' kettle that should handle a large crowd.

I have a blue Weber 22"…

I have a blue Weber 22" kettle with table (similar to Performer, but without the starter / charcoal bin).  I bought it new in 2005 and it is still going strong.  Only things I've replaced are the coal bins that go inside for creating direct / indirect zones and the grate (which I replaced with a fancy cast iron grate that was suggested by the MGoBBQ guy).

If you go charcoal, get a chimney starter...super easy getting the coals going and you don't need lighter fluid or the lighter fluid soaked coals.  I just crumple a couple pieces of newspaper under the bottom, fill it with coals and light the paper in/on the grate.  10-15 minutes later, pour it into the grill and ready to go.

It's been about 15 years…

It's been about 15 years since I was in grad school at UCLA, but I went to a lot of games at Jackie Robinson Stadium.  The actual seating area is quite small, but there were nice grass areas down both lines where you can sit and picnic while you watch the game.  My wife and I used to pick up sandwiches from Bay Cities Deli in Santa Monica before the games.  Get there early and bring a blanket.

It's all ball bearings…

It's all ball bearings nowadays. Now you prepare that Fetzer valve with some 3-in-1 oil and some gauze pads.

Live in the stadium it looked to me like a fair catch signal.  Only after watching it again on replay yesterday did I see that he was pointing to his blockers.  Even then it looked like he got his hand up above his shoulders, so I understood why the referees interpreted it that way.
