the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection

| 2 years 7 weeks ago | Trey's height |
I saw Col. Northland play in person early this season, and Trey is a bit taller than it might seem. Northland has a tall HS team, including a pair of 6' 8" guys that are probably MAC caliber players (they apparently hardly saw the floor before this season, what with Sullinger and Co.). Anyways, Burke's teammates make him seem shorter than he really is. As for his play, WOW. I mean, they were playing a crappy Columbus public school when I saw him, but still, he could do a little bit of everything, including easily throwing down a dunk on a breakaway. I think it is awesome that he will have the opportunity to cut his teeth for a year (or two) while playing under Morris, and I really think he could be something special. Also, gotta love the recent stories about how he proudly wears his maize and blue gear out and about in Columbus. |

Pulling Bo away from his alma mater (Miami University) ended up working out pretty well. |

FOUL! The Connie Hawkins Story by David Wolf I found this on my Dad's book shelf a few years back, and it was unbelievable. Hawkins was before my time, so I had never heard of him. His story is a great one. I don't think it is in print anymore though, so you would have to buy it used. |

Actually, Boucher who played tonight is Miami's backup QB. Their starter, Zac Dysert, lacerated his spleen in the Miami-BGSU game (Fog Bowl), and Boucher has played well in place of him since then. |

I may disagree with some of his basketball opinions, but I generally don't think of Harvard Law grads as idiots. |

I think they said "Michigan does not have a lot of good ballhandlers, they have pretty good ballhandlers" |

and was wondering what bars around Comerica have the best atmospehe for watching the ND game. Obviously pretty much all of the bars will be at least semi-UM freindly, but wanted to see where you guys think is the best spot. We were thinking Chelis or Hockeytown. Keep in mind we'd like to stay somewhat close to the stadium so that we can get to the baseball game quickly after the Michigan victory. Thanks for your input, and GO BLUE! |

the other day even before this Vlad news. I really do wonder if Tate on defense could ever work. I realize that it has probably been a long time since Tate has lined up on the other side of the ball (if ever), but I'm still intrigued. I could see where a QB thrust into the seconday could be very instinctive because they have so much experience studying and reading coverages. Again, probably not realistic based on athleticism, but still a thought. |

I've been watching off and on the whole weekend and there has been absolutley no effort. Cabrera especially...it would appear he has still not returned from the All Star break |

The Les Miles storylines would be pretty cool (assuming he would still be coach there, which could not be the case sometime in the near future). Also, although M hasn't won on the west coast forever, I would like to see a home and home with Washington. One of my earliest sports memories is playing them in the Rose Bowl. It seems like they will be a Pac Ten power within a season or two under Sarkisian. |

Since it seems that academics mean more to the Big Ten than any other major conference, here are the most recent US News College Rankings for various D1-A schools in the region and other schools that have been mentioned, along with the current Big 10 teams: 12. Northwestern Any relevant schools beyond those are Tier 3 or lower, and thus don't have a ranking. |

| 3 years 24 weeks ago | Louisville Slugger Bats |
When I take the plunge someday (hopefully still a few years off on that), I plan on giving my groomsmen personalized Louisville Slugger bats. You can get them with the person's name engraved, and also have the option of engraving either their favorite MLB or college. I think these are pretty badass, and would make for a nice decoration piece in an office or den. |
| 3 years 30 weeks ago | Brad Bates |
If I remember correctly, the last book that Bo wrote had a couple of pages devoted to Brad Bates (discussion of what a scrappy walk-on he was), and then he concluded the section by mentioning that he wouldn't be surprised if Brad Bates would someday become Michigan's AD. I attended Miami and actually had some interactions with Bates while I was a student assistant on the football team. He is a great guy, and seemed to really have a great vision for the future of Miami's athletic department. I know that the performance of the Miami football team over the past few years might scare people off, but his decision to hire Montgomery as HC when Hoeppner left was met with practically unanimous support (Hoeppner certainly endorsed the decision, and he was a God-like figure in Oxford, even after leaving for IU). Time will only tell if his second football HC hire is a little more successful. |
