Some indie suggestions

I am a big fan of Rilo Kiley but wouldn't mind a new tune every year. Sticking with the indie theme, here are some ideas:

Radiohead - Jigsaw Falling Into Place

Arcade Fire - Ready to Start

The Wrens - Faster Gun

Is Kanye's Power too played out? Probably... but still a sweet song.

Cam

Obviously the linebackers are shaping up to be the sorest/thinnest spot on defense next year, but I don't think moving Cam Gordon would work out very well. It seems that Cam has the athletic ability to make the plays at safety but lacks the technique to tackle effectively. He does have the instinct and willingness to go for the killshot, but he's completely whiffed (all but once, I think) on those this year.

Before Sparty his story was being solid in run support while lacking playmaking ability in open space. If you move him to linebacker, would he really have a better nose for the ball in lots of traffic while trying to shed blocks?

Another position switch would derail a lot of his progress. I don't want to see him turn into a perennial position journeyman/utility guy. I'd rather see the coaches try and build him into a destroyer of souls as a safety.

this question reminds me of the great Rainier Wolfcastle

Jay Sherman: How do you sleep at night?

Rainer Wolfcastle: On top of a pile of money with many beautiful ladies.

glorious Schadenfreude is being on a 2.5 hour bus ride back to Chicago on a Notre Dame party bus. Fuck. Yes.
aigh! Left Victory Liquors this morning at 7:30 am on a bus to South Bend for the game. My travelling companions are a Buckeye and a Mountaineer. The ride home will be the best or worst bus ride ever.
I see. Thanks for the heads

I see. Thanks for the heads up. Back to the shadows, for me.

Cool avatar, Chunkums.

I don't post a lot, but can

I don't post a lot, but can somebody tell me why I was negged 10 points? I wasn't being snarky by posting the IRS link, just thought it could help the guy. I'm not a tax professional but I know that even navigating the IRS website to find the right document can be tricky for some.

Is it a "you didn't help much so you shouldn't help at all" kind of a thing?

this might help

It might sound blasphemous

It might sound blasphemous but they have this dry rubbed cajun rib eye.. it's the best steak I've had in the city. I've been everywhere but David Burke's.

Fail indeed. That's a good

Fail indeed. That's a good price, good location and a short (and safe) walk to Grant Park.

I don't know anything about the hotel, but you're a 15 second walk from Morton's, which might be my favorite steak place in the city.

Not happening

Supply and demand, dude.

There are 100,000 people attending Lollapalooza and you want to get a hotel for $300/night that is really close to grant park? You'll end up closer to Midway than downtown for $300/night.

Cape Town

I'll be in South Africa catching a game at the stadium in Cape Town. /thread

Rich alums Rich alums can't just go giving money away. There's a difference between donating it to the University and giving it to Rich Rod to pay off his lawsuit. If there's one thing rich alums hate it's taxes. If they give Rich Rod more than $13,000 in 2009 they have to pony up to the IRS, lest they dig into their lifetime exclusion limit that they would probably reserve for their family.
pseudo threadjack I did not see this exceedingly relevant topic when I made my maiden post a short while ago.. I'll be in Galway for week one and Barcelona for week two. Surely there are other MGoReaders who have watched (or tried and failed to watch) college football games in these cities. I'd appreciate any suggestions.
watching games overseas Gents, long time reader/first-time poster. Figured asking here was better than creating a diary and filling it with babble about lol Sparty or how many small children Charlie could eat in one sitting. I'll be in Galway, Ireland for game one against WMU. Then I'll be in Barcelona for game two against ND. Any idea if/where I can go watch the games? I'll be staying in hostels/hotels/villas and I won't have an internet connection, besides whatever I can get on my Blackberry. Thanks.
happy otter Hopefully this is the next otter picture we will see in a post about (or.. not about) Will Campbell: http://flickr.com/photos/pic-clicker/3143006214/sizes/l/
