I also am more hiker than technical climber but have climbed Grand Teton and had some real high altitude experience summiting Aconcagua (22,841) last year. I’ve been following closely this season as I know two people that are there and have had some interest in doing Everest. That photo and the 6 deaths this year already on Everest have lessened my interest.
Try the Red Iguana for Mexican food. It's near downtown. The place doesn't look like much but it's probably the best Mexican food you'll ever eat. Amazing mole sauces.
