I like them. Green is an upgrade over anyone on the roster on the PP, and Richards can still contribute - think about some of the guys who have been taking a regular shift with the wings the past five years. He can't be worse. If he doesn't play a ton it is probably a good sign about some of the young guys too, so no loss at one year. Now if they could dump Ericsson and Howard...
I live out in BC - and even the Vancouver media did a huge segment praising Stevie Y. No one could believe what he was able to do on that one leg; his effort was superhuman. Coming back from that 2-0 deficit to a very hot team was a thril to watch (and watching Canuck fans wilt). The best part about it was you would never guess it from his demeanor. He never made himself a spectacle, no self-aggrandizement ever, just old school leadership and honor.
Brian, sincere thanks for this blog. It is my favorite source for Michigan football (even during the rough times), but also good humor and laughs (usually). This hasnt been the greatest of years for myself either, but this blog is a source of great enjoyment for me, and for that I am truly greatful. Keep up the good work, and remember how many people out there really love this place.
Big Al needs to get in his own head. Try the Costanza approach - do the opposite of what he thinks he should do. How could it be any worse then 6 yds in 27 mins?
things will be ok - the team is adjusting to life without the National POY/1st rd pick, 2 key guys were hurting, McGary is still coming back and the freshmen will get better. Look at the college b-ball landscape, lots of big name teams losing/being severely challenged at home early this year. I think the team will start hitting their stride heading into the B1G schedule.
from the 95/96 squads to talk to the team. Similar situations for both teams (albeit we were better then). Hope it provides a spark. Also, talk to DG and tell him to just play ball - throw caution to the wind and have some fun again. We are underdogs, embrace it.
2. Devin is a very talented QB - he has produced at a very high level a number of times.
3. I have no doubt he can still do great things if someone is brought in to fix things.
BTW, I hope DG sees some of this positive stuff out there. For every hack that rips him, I bet there are a lot more who admire his class, toughness and heart. Is he perfect? No, but he is OUR QB, and one that deserves all of our support.
to Michigan and be the offensive coordinator. I have said this before, and I will say it again: how could anyone else be worse? I just don't see it. I am not trying to be ridiculous here, but raising a serious question. Our offense is broken. Shortcomings and all, there is no way this group of players should be producing such anemic results. You can't tell me that every recruit over the past 4 years is a complete bust and incapable of playing well at the Div 1 level. Given that, coaching must be an issue, from position coaching to the OC. Considering the fact that I have never seen such abysmal offensive football in the 20 years I have been watching Michigan, why not make a change and bring in an innovative coach and let him run with things? Are we afraid that the offense will actually run for less than zero yards? Completely lay eggs in every big road game? Squander talent by lacking vision and flexibility? All of that has already/is already happening.
I think he is a victim of circumstance. The Space Coyotes of the world may be able to debunk this, but I think he is hurt by A) scheme - not a Power I type back, more of a spread type, and B) clearly running behind a terrible line. He has had some great games for Michigan during his career, we shouldn't forget that.
get him on the field and let him go with it - they have NOTHING to lose. He could be a guy who could A) be an explosive weapon, and B) be a guy the franchise could use to rally some fan support (so many stories to go with).
Like so many, I really hope he can make his way in the NFL - seems like a genuine good guy and will always be one of my favorite Wolverines. I just hope he doesn't get killed running behind that line.
x 1000000. Even though I have no love for some of the coaches, still am behind these players 100% and always will be. Hanging in there in these somewat lean days will make it that much sweeter when the team gets things turned around - I just hope it is soon.

- Cats, including internet cats, are loathesome.
- Jimmy Howard is highly overrated.
- The majority of food "allergies"/intolerances people complain about are bogus.

You have no idea how much I envy you.
+1
Oh man will it be sweet to see the Captain back on the ice with his #19 Wings jersey on again. I will probably get the chills... what a beauty!

great post, made me laugh, needed it. +100
We won't find a Malzahn if we don't think outside the box a bit - you are right.
Clearly, him or Gruden.

of the term odious. This season has been, save for one game, completely odious.
Our hope is defense... Go Blue
Who? EDSBS might say Pease, I'd take my chances at this point.

than have Al Borges as the OC.
Defense, not really on Offense.

polygamy. Well, some parts do.
I hope not.
1. great name/picture

strictly to see what new uniformz we get.
Proud of the players, they fought their asses off. Happy for DG too, way to make plays!
DG, make this a turning point buddy!!! TD! I don't even remember how to celebrate those anymore.
Al is Become Death, destroyer of Quarterbacks.
at least he wouldn't pick play action on 3rd and long out of the I.
a) the chimp who predicts playoffs for the NHL
or
b) the octopus who predicts world cup soccer.
Vincent Smith halfback pass. BK Finest it.
wow! now can we score a TD?
long developing play, sack. We have seen this before.
HEY AL, FIGURE IT OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
keep up the winning formula!
check out the Auburn/Georgia game - man can Auburn run the ball.
thanks Al, did you watch kids playing Madden for play call inspiration?

interesting choice of words. a smellier version of a dumpster fire, i like it.
They are much better at adapting to their players than Borges. Wouldn't it be great to have the next Gus Malzahn?
He should enjoy his family and let us enjoy watching Michigan football again.
Shake things up, what's the worst that could happen now? Get a head start on next year.
and he has literally caused me to stop watching games at times, but is it really necessary to say he is a "useless human"?
neg away... oh wait.

to save my sanity. This has not been an enjoyable season as a whole - one good win and a lot of frustration.
the special teams?
