It's Friday night, and time for a friday night open/drinking thread.
Whats in everyone's glasses tonight?
Ardbeg Galileo. Fucking incredible.
Im very jealous.
I scoured the earth for a bottle. And by that I mean 3 bottles.
and picked up a bottle of Glenmorangie 10 last weekend.
I'm a pussy and add a splash of water, but I can appreciate the quality. Not even close to man enough to hit the Ardbeg. Enjoy!
You and Al are drinking Zima.
Single chocolate malt?
ABV per shot.
I would totally buy it at -1% abv. If you drink a little too much, you just have a little of that to clear it up.
The choice of our mayor is crack and coke!
for that one.
It's supposed to be a Red Rye PA (Founders) clone, but it's not as hoppy as I would have liked. However, the alcohol content is ~8.5 percent, so it will do the trick!
Just picked up a bottle of Macallan 12 and I'm heading to a buddy's house. Haven't had a drink since before the Hand announcement and I intend to make up for a lot.
I'm drinking an Arnold Palmer.
Having a couple White Russians before switching to beer.
In some thrilling news, I heard that my favorite bar in town - from which I was banned for life - recently took down their Banned-for-Life list. So I'll be heading there tonight! Wish me luck
From the brewery I posted about below. Tried to find one of these but struck out everywhere I went.
... dude, you can't just throw out that you got banned for life from a bar without telling the story! :)
Here goes nothing...
Some friends across country and I started sending each other videos of us doing dumb shit at bars... So at this particular bar, a couple years ago, I started pissing all over the patio, with my phone out, recording, and got busted.
Sure enough, I was welcomed back with open arms, and was completely behaved!
sounds interesting. can you tell us the story?
Something simple tonight and just enjoying some Blue Moon here. For now, I just hope this is not me on Sunday morning when I pour my coffee:
Unfortunately it is not available in Ontario.
Going with Columbia crest Cabernet. Really good stuff for a reasonable price.
The Columbia Crest Horse Heaven Hills (H3). Retails about $18.00 on sale @ $14.00. A very good cab from Washington State!
I'm drinking the regular black crown. I take a drink each time I see a complaint about Borges, two for Funk, and three for Hoke. Five drinks if Hand comes to mind. I'm gonna need more than a twelve pack.
GO BLUE! BEAT ...errrr f*** it. (Lee Corso Style)
I like butane and jack daniels....it's not for everyone.
pure hoppiness. On tap at San Diego Brewing Co.
it brings luck.
It's nice to have a nice brewery in Iowa on the level of the great ones in Michigan. Toppling Goliath Pseudo Sue is on the beer menu along with some Clown Shoes beers I've picked up a while back. Not exactly matching beers, but good.
On the topic of beer talk, anybody else pick up the Goose Island beers put out over the past few weeks, the "Sisters" so to speak (Gillian, Halia, Juliet, Lolitta?)
is a phenomenal brewer and you're lucky to live close enough to get it on the regular. I traded for a PseudoSue and Sosus a couple months ago. The PseudoSue especially was stellar.
I've had Gillian and Halia and both are great if you like sours and don't mind the price.
Thread title is gold.
Jolly Pumpkin tonight. Fairly good beer. Definitely better than ABC and (ugh) Blue Tractor
Shouldn't this b tomorrow's thread if Michigan loses
New person record!!!!!!! 6 straight chuigs! Heeres cheers to sending al Borgges to USC !
The over/under on Michigan's rushing yardage is set at -25. WHat do you take?
Not now. Can't you see we are drinking.
Now Hand is trying to get Peppers to head for Bama!
18 year old Jameson
Not drinking tonight but I did pick up a couple of Pipeworks Brewing bombers the other day, Glaucus(Belgian IPA) and What Lurks in the Dark(oatmeal stout). Really good up and coming brewery in Chicago for any of you MgoBloggers in town looking for something different. It's in Bucktown on Western Ave, not too far from Evanston.
Coors light and Bird Dog peach flavored bourbon. Nothing but the best!
I'm trying a Left Hand Nitro Milk Stout. First time nitrogenated beer. I'll report back after trying it.
I like it. It's very creamy (I guess that's where the "milk" in milk stout come from) which makes it really interesting. Great head. Not much carbonation (or nitrogentation i guess in this case), but that's not really a bad thing for a stout. Would've liked a little more body in it, but overall, good.
"I like it...very creamy...Great head...Would've liked a little more body...but overall, good"
because fuck engineering projects, that's why.
