It's Friday night, and time for a friday night open/drinking thread.
Whats in everyone's glasses tonight?
Ardbeg Galileo. Fucking incredible.
Im very jealous.
I scoured the earth for a bottle. And by that I mean 3 bottles.
and picked up a bottle of Glenmorangie 10 last weekend.
I'm a pussy and add a splash of water, but I can appreciate the quality. Not even close to man enough to hit the Ardbeg. Enjoy!
You and Al are drinking Zima.
Single chocolate malt?
ABV per shot.
I would totally buy it at -1% abv. If you drink a little too much, you just have a little of that to clear it up.
The choice of our mayor is crack and coke!
It's supposed to be a Red Rye PA (Founders) clone, but it's not as hoppy as I would have liked. However, the alcohol content is ~8.5 percent, so it will do the trick!
Just picked up a bottle of Macallan 12 and I'm heading to a buddy's house. Haven't had a drink since before the Hand announcement and I intend to make up for a lot.
I'm drinking an Arnold Palmer.
Having a couple White Russians before switching to beer.
In some thrilling news, I heard that my favorite bar in town - from which I was banned for life - recently took down their Banned-for-Life list. So I'll be heading there tonight! Wish me luck
From the brewery I posted about below. Tried to find one of these but struck out everywhere I went.
... dude, you can't just throw out that you got banned for life from a bar without telling the story! :)
Here goes nothing...
Some friends across country and I started sending each other videos of us doing dumb shit at bars... So at this particular bar, a couple years ago, I started pissing all over the patio, with my phone out, recording, and got busted.
Sure enough, I was welcomed back with open arms, and was completely behaved!
sounds interesting. can you tell us the story?
Something simple tonight and just enjoying some Blue Moon here. For now, I just hope this is not me on Sunday morning when I pour my coffee:
Unfortunately it is not available in Ontario.
Going with Columbia crest Cabernet. Really good stuff for a reasonable price.
The Columbia Crest Horse Heaven Hills (H3). Retails about $18.00 on sale @ $14.00. A very good cab from Washington State!
I'm drinking the regular black crown. I take a drink each time I see a complaint about Borges, two for Funk, and three for Hoke. Five drinks if Hand comes to mind. I'm gonna need more than a twelve pack.
GO BLUE! BEAT ...errrr f*** it. (Lee Corso Style)
I like butane and jack daniels....it's not for everyone.
pure hoppiness. On tap at San Diego Brewing Co.
it brings luck.
It's nice to have a nice brewery in Iowa on the level of the great ones in Michigan. Toppling Goliath Pseudo Sue is on the beer menu along with some Clown Shoes beers I've picked up a while back. Not exactly matching beers, but good.
On the topic of beer talk, anybody else pick up the Goose Island beers put out over the past few weeks, the "Sisters" so to speak (Gillian, Halia, Juliet, Lolitta?)
is a phenomenal brewer and you're lucky to live close enough to get it on the regular. I traded for a PseudoSue and Sosus a couple months ago. The PseudoSue especially was stellar.
I've had Gillian and Halia and both are great if you like sours and don't mind the price.
Thread title is gold.
Jolly Pumpkin tonight. Fairly good beer. Definitely better than ABC and (ugh) Blue Tractor
Shouldn't this b tomorrow's thread if Michigan loses
New person record!!!!!!! 6 straight chuigs! Heeres cheers to sending al Borgges to USC !
The over/under on Michigan's rushing yardage is set at -25. WHat do you take?
Not now. Can't you see we are drinking.
Now Hand is trying to get Peppers to head for Bama!
18 year old Jameson
Not drinking tonight but I did pick up a couple of Pipeworks Brewing bombers the other day, Glaucus(Belgian IPA) and What Lurks in the Dark(oatmeal stout). Really good up and coming brewery in Chicago for any of you MgoBloggers in town looking for something different. It's in Bucktown on Western Ave, not too far from Evanston.
Coors light and Bird Dog peach flavored bourbon. Nothing but the best!
I'm trying a Left Hand Nitro Milk Stout. First time nitrogenated beer. I'll report back after trying it.
I like it. It's very creamy (I guess that's where the "milk" in milk stout come from) which makes it really interesting. Great head. Not much carbonation (or nitrogentation i guess in this case), but that's not really a bad thing for a stout. Would've liked a little more body in it, but overall, good.
"I like it...very creamy...Great head...Would've liked a little more body...but overall, good"
because fuck engineering projects, that's why.
Less water, moar redbull and coffee.
Shared a bottle of Cayuse syrah with a neighbor-- a Spartan no less. He's feeling particularly gracious these days apparently...
Founders Backwoods Bastard
With a cherry on top.
Because I'm a pretty, pretty princess.
I have a problem saying, "Mutha f_____!" and, "fuck____." when I drink. Well FUCK OHIO
Where's the tits appreciation thread? i must've missed it.
For me its Pendleton and Coke..
>Finish your drink
I will be drinking Miller Lite and Knob Creek tonight. Don't ask me why it's so random. It's all I have.
Proud owner of two new glasses to my collection.
1993 Rose Bowl shot-
And a 1981 Rose Bowl Champions glass. Bo's first Rose Bowl win.
Probably will use the 1993 once for a special night and then it will go up on the shelf in with the others. I have a 1947 Western Conference Champions/1948 Rose Bowl Champions/1947 National Champions pint glass actually.
Yes, I am underage. And yes, no shits are given.
Citizen Kane appears to be rather drunk. Or appears to want to appear rather drunk. I can't really tell.
Apparently Bells is going with cans now:
Pretty awesome, in my opinion.
Very awesome. Like Founders!
They've been saying this for two years...
I'm drinking cheap, dry whiskey, chased with cheap, dry whiskey. Along with some two hearted here and there.
Founders All Day IPA, and Makers.
Cuervo Reserva de la Familia bottle #06641
Deviant Dales. Had a 4 pack after a long day of being in three different courts. Had some Thai and I feel decent. Here's to tomorrow
New Belgium Ranger IPA and Bell's Two-Hearted Ale.
John Elway's beer of choice...while watching the Cheap Seat box set. The Sklar brothers, Jason and Randy.
Manhattan with Old Overholt, Antica Sweet Vermouth, and a Luxardo cherry. A win is certain.
Fat head, headhunter IPA, the best there is...
Blue buck... Yep! Shout out to all Canadians also!
First post on Mgoblog (I know, cool story bro).
However, I figured if anytime was a great opportunity to join in the chat that I've enjoyed reading for years, its the Friday drinking thread.
I've enjoyed reading your thoughts for years now and looking forward to adding my own now.
Bourbon in my glass tonight. Why? Cause it is great.
Go Blue this Saturday and Sunday!
Welcome!!! I was drinking beer. Then I got home and am still drinking beer.
My night is pretty much Michigan footballl. Drink and have fun for a bit - get slapped in the face and realize your not getting anything - then go home and sip some more sweet alcohol, hoping you enjoy it without a terrible hangover but fully expecting pain in the near future.
And a Romeo y Julietta Cuban
Grey Goose Cherry Noir on the rocks. Gotta keep it classy.
Paired 2006 Domaine Rene Rostaing Les Lezardes Syrah (from France) with BBQ boneless pork ribs, acorn squash and roasted brussel Spouts. For desert caramel cake wit chocolate frosting paired with Tall Grass Brewery(Manhattan, KS) Buffalo sweat vanilla bean stout. Very good wine and beer!
Been there a few times. They make good stuff.
Prichard's single malt whiskey. Best thing outside of bourbon.
I have reached a point in my life where I fall asleep before I can get drunk....
Going with the Faygo Root Beer tonight, gotta pace myself for watching a Borges offense in person tomorrow.
Still getting used to the whole cognac thing.
Bridgeport IPA from Portland, OR. One of the finest of the NW IPAs and that saying something! Usually I drink strictly Montana microbrews (we have a few amazing breweries); but I make an exception for Bridgeport IPA.
From the Big Sky Brewing Company!
Agreed! Great beer
Seriously? You mixed that with coke? The horror!
I'm a wussbag, I know.
Still drinking at Duffys in chi town.
Got a bomber of Dogfishhead 75 Minute IPA... Great stuff...
In Chicago this weekend, and I'm trying to find some Three Floyd's Zombie Dust.... Any suggestions as to where I can find it?
