About 5 years back I played a few pick-up games with him out here in Phoenix during the summer. As you would expect from someone so terrifying, he was an absolute monster. There were a few other NFL guys playing as well, can't remember their names (I think Breaston was there). My main concern as we were playing (besides getting dunked on or elbowed in the head) was making sure to stay away from their ankles/feet...you don't want to the guy who caused something like this to happen. Achilles is probably a freak accident though.
if they played in central Phx/Scottsdale. I live near Desert Ridge and work in the Biltmore, and trudging 45 min-1 hr each direction on a work night just isn't happening.
I'm guessing you probably know, since you're pretty connected, how did they end up in Glendale in the first place? I've heard it had something to do with Ellman/Moyes owning the land and getting Glendale to provide a pretty sweet deal/incentives. Where else were they considering? Seems like they could have built the exact same "Westgate" type of setup where Tempe Marketplace is right now. That thing would be a goldmine. Hell, put it on the res where they just put the new D-backs spring training facility.
I was at the game last night (disclosure I'm a Wings fan), and it was pretty damn depressing. Sat with a bunch of season ticket holders, and they were taking it pretty rough. Moms explaining to kids that this might be the last game they ever see, etc...
I'll rip it up. Pretty much everything in sports is on the table as far as I'm concerned, but this damn well better not be. A 20 year old kid died and it's a tragedy.
I've got to think our fans are better than that - but in this world, who knows.
Believe it or not, he's actually older than Bo would have been if he were still with us.
The life of a major college football coach is grueling. 83 years old, nearly 3/4 of them putting in 12+ hr days and it's no real surprise he'd hit the wall. Too bad, the guy is an icon.
My only worry now is, will I feel sorry when we crush them this year? I wager "no".
If so, how does it compare to the last few on PS2? I realize I am stuck in the dark ages with the PS2, but with them not making the game for the Wii it's my only choice. Did they add online dynasty to the PS2 version this year? Is the gameplay any good?
