A more telling statistic for a recruiting class is star average. According to Rivals, Michigan's average star level is 3.45, which is about the 6th of 7th best in the nation. Michigan's low ranking is mainly linked to the small class size.
If McCaffrey puts on some weight, i really think he can beat out both Patterson and Peters. We forget but many scouts considered DM to be the best QB of the 2017 cycle.
Granted he has not seen any game action, but several RS Fr QBs have made huge impacts i.e Jameis Winston, Johnny Manziel. If Patterson can play right away then take him, if not i say we pass.
