Mike Rowe: The Way I Heard It

Each episode is about 10ish minutes long and all are pretty entertaining. Recounts historical figures/events and the small stories that led to how we know them today.

Just started playing last fall and now it's all I can think about (aside from Michigna football, of course).  Now if only I could keep my left arm straight and my damn head down!

Nice!  For the strength, it's a pretty robust scotch and the sherry cask helps with the finish while keeping the bite away.  Looking to move on to a more peaty scotch tonight...perhaps an Ardbeg 10 or a Laphroaig 12.  The night is still young.

Hit em' long and straight!  The RTJ golf trail in Alabama is a beautiful thing and I welcome you to meet me on the course if you can ever make it down this way.

I'm not sure why you're so butt-hurt (sp?) but, dude, seriously, have some scotch.  Your liver will thank you for it and maybe, just maybe, you will not be so much of a douche.*

A rocks glass full of Macallan Cask Strength after a LONG strategic offiste meeting (The Lakes Course at Grand Naional on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail) with my boss and others from work.  Bogey golf at it's finest.

Trying to drown out all the

Trying to drown out all the haters down here in Auburn Alabama by drinking some of The Glenlivet 12.  Getting tired of those saying they are rooting for Syracuse because their colors match.  GO BLUE!

Been living down here in

Been living down here in Auburn for 5 years now and have been exposed to some of the most die hard Auburn/SEC fans known to man.  Whenever I wear Michigan gear, I always encounter someone who has generaly good/competitive things to say about Michigan and the B1G.  All that being said, EVERYONE I know down here has said that they are all Michigan fans this weekend.  I even had my boss tell me today that he would be more than happy to sport a Michigan t-shirt this weekend in support of Michigan "laying the smack down on Alabama."

I also bike to work every day while wearing a Michigan t-shirt.  The route I take has me cutting directly through the heart of Auburn's campus at some of the busiest times of the day.  All this week I have been hearing a lot of students yelling GO BLUE as I bike by.  I think it is safe to say that Auburn is fully supporting Michigan this weekend!

Coop's Place was my favorite

Coop's Place was my favorite when I was down earlier this year.  They have some great local brews on tap and serve some great local fare.  I highly recommend their Rabbit & Sausage Jambalaya.

Another great place is The Court of Two Sisters.  It's by reservation only and a little expensive but well worth every penny spent.  I'm convinced that they serve not only some of the best food in NOLA, but also the best Mint Julep and Hurricane I have ever had.

Just bought my first bottle

Just bought my first bottle of The Glenlivet 18 year old.  HIGHLY satisfied and HIGHLY recommended.

For the hand grenades, the only bar that serves them is The Tropical Isle.  There are about 3 of them along Borboun Street, so they are pretty easy to find.

Some of the best food in New Orleans can be found at 'The Court of Two Sisters' and 'Coops'.  Two places that are worth every cent spent there.

Of course the French Quarter is what it is, and be sure to try and take a graveyard tour and have your fortune read for good measure.

Last but not least is Harrah's Casino.  Can't beat the free drinks and air conditioning (I know it will be January when you are down there, but in the sping/summer, it gets pretty bad down there).

Was thinking about making the trip myself as I live only 6 hours from the Big Easy.  I've heard that New Years Eve is pretty wild down there and rivals Marti Gras.  For a nice hotel close to all the action, check out The Lamonthe House.  We stayed there and loved it.  Hope this helps!

This video...

still give me the chills to this day.   I'll never forget that play.

Outstanding!

Your work is always appreciated.  It makes the nights at work spent bored off my ass just that much more tollerable.

Video feed

is showing some cool stuff right now.  You can see what appears to be giant speakers flanking the sides and being installed right now.

I can only imagine how loud it is going to be this year now with the new boards.  The atmosphere will be a far cry from what it once was just a few years ago.

Marine Corps vet...

so I pull for Navy as my #2 team.

Was able to play some pickup games while on station and us Marines were always able to put asside our differences with the saliors on station for  our own Navy vs. Army games.  If it meant kicking their asses up and down the field, it was all worth it.

Thanks...

for the tip.  Picked up a copy today and can't wait to get on after work tonight.

Got it...

Just ordered one... CAN'T WAIT

Great job!

I love these! I was sure to download every one last season and put them on my desktop for my home and work computers. look forward to seeing what you do this fall.

Sarcasm...

I think his comment was just pure sarcasm in that ND is sooooo great and such a traditional power, how could one root against them when they are playing one of our service academies?  That being said, the joke would be that ND > America.

To quote the great Bo...  "To hell with ND!"

Thanks Tom...

I have to say taht this recruiting class is shaping up very nicely.  Would love to see Rawls make it on board.  Love the effort by Hoke and Mattison with such a short time span to get things done.

Found this on Maize n' Brew that sums up their recruiting pretty well...

ESPN Blogger Brian Bennett suggests

that there will be a coaching change at WVU depending on the outcome of their bowl game (Link Below).

Would be great to see Casteel come to M, but it seems that his roots may be too well planted in Morgantown.  Of course there will be a metric-ass-ton of speculation as to who ends up where, but I'm sure this will be a fun story to watch develop over the next month.
