Having worn both styles during the "transition years" as the shorts got progressively longer and baggier, I thought the older ones were much more comfortable and looked better (neater). Definately less suceptible to being held/grabbed/yanked, too. But I also realize that this is a minority opinion, as it was in the 80s as well. |

Me too. The style toward knee-length "shorts"was changing (in many sports) while I was a college athlete, and I absolutely hated it. We'd never be able to go back to the shorts of the 70's and early 80's (e.g. see Mr. Kass above), but there has got to be something between the '68 version and a midi. |

This is what the Lions did yesterday, right? Used their last two TOs on 1st and 2d, then Raiders threw the incomplete trying to convert on 3d, stopping the clock for us again. If nothing else changed, the Lions would have had 30-35 seconds less on the clock if they had waited until the "later downs." |
