I'd hardly consider Miles a bust! I'll never understand the anti Miles group, is it soley a culture thing? Because if it is, I'd suggest you to take a look at our current/last 7 years situation and tell me we don't need a culture change. Les Miles is in the business if winning football games, that should be concern 1, 1a, 1b, 1c, and 2. If you can't get a former player to coach your team to the standards that they were held to when they played, then our problems are seriously much deeper than a coach.
The inclusion of Hoke's verbal ticks, throwing a little shot at him once again. Way to keep it classy Brian, you must really enjoy Hoke. I'd be happy to see him back, just to watch the meltdowns here.
A friend and I were debating the whole Hoke thing, and he wanted to blame Hoke for everything thats happened. I made that same point, that he shouldn't have ever been offered the job. But since they did, and he took it, he has busted his ass to do everything for this team he could. Did he fall short, sure. But it's not his fault he was in over his head from the start. The administration really screwed the pooch on the Hoke hire.
I'm proud of coach Hoke, and all the effort he has put in to make this team the best he could! I hope he can find success somewhere.
Actually I noticed somebody mention the d-line being his forte, I was thinking a while ago, and not that it matters now really but what if Hoke was demoted to D-line coach/lead recruiter? Could he redeem himself in the fans eyes with another 97 like d-line?
That's exactly how I'm viewing it. I posted above that I hope they refuse to sell season tickets to anybody who has had them 4+ years. Time to get these whiny ass fair weather fans out. And same for the student section if it doesn't fill regularly, strip them of seats and sell them to people that want to go support their team, classmates, and friends.

For the most part it's the pot shots at players and coaches. Especially knowing, 99% of this blog would faill at anything football related, especially at this level of play. And that's at any position, player, coach, official, shit even ball boy.
Agreed, part of their job is being evaluated. But that is by somebody who is paid to do that. And I totally understand that the criticism comes with the job. That person, isn't as you said, taking pot shots at the coach. That is why I really do like reading the content that is over at TTB, you get a criticism through factual information, and you can easily come to the conclusion yourself that a change is needed.
I've been pretty outspoken about Brian, and the way he conducts this blog like its his personal agenda machine. And although people do provide some facts(usually very little) they usually include along with fact their personal opinion, and in Brian's case a rallying cry for something he thinks needs to be done.
Perfect example; look at the links in the title of the Getting Right With History. Without even reading a single word I knew where it was going. Then I see a tab reading "when can we fire this guy". Now, this is either Brian voluntarily serving his own opinion along with a little factual evidence( which, I think we all know by now) or him purposely including inflammatory material in his posts because he knows how the community will react, thus making his site more popular.
Just fyi everybody, I'll be renting out a music hall so I can play the worlds smallest violin for the mgoblog community.
One more little thought, I really hope what happens is that the school ends up cutting season ticket packages, and sells the seats as general admission. You know, people who would actually appreciate the opportunity to go to a game, and will be excited to see the team either way.
Maybe you guys were right, Michigan needs a facelift, refuse to sell to people that held season tickets for more than 4-5 years. And let's gets some fresh young excited faces on the crowd. Obviously Michigan fans have become jaded, and are no longer capable of of feeling any joy.
As a matter if fact, if they can't fill the student section I think they should do the sane thing. Reduce the seats, and fill them with people that want to be there, as opposed to all you who feel you have a god given right to be there, and that your opinion needs to be heard.

Can you explain to me(factually) how Michigan football could be gone? In a literal sense, that would never ever, ever happen. If so many people were upset, those might not go, but it would open up games for other people to go.
I'll be supporting the players, and whoever ends up being the coach. What else can you do as a fan? We are there to support the team, which includes coaches. Anybody who thinks it's the fans job to give critiques of coaching and players, is an idiot. And anybody that gives up on the program, like so many here, are just sad individuals that will probably die angry and miss a lot of nice things in life.
Nick Baumgardner and Brendan Quinn reports are pretty much equal to what is posted around here lately. It's kinda funny though to see people turn their hate(rightfully so) to these guys based on what they are saying, when 9 out of every 10 posts contain very similar material.
I started posting again at the wrong time, I called out people for bitching constantly a week ago and got more bitching and the dreaded "down vote" (oh no) for it.
Either way, glad to see people finally realizing that Hoke isn't a piece of shit that cratered the program. And that there is much more to life than football wins and losses.
I don't think too many people can/will argue that Hoke should be retained. The point is that, people are attacking his personal character, when all he did was try his best to make this team work. Say what you will about his coaching, but leave the personal insults out. I'll put money on it that Hoke is a far better human being, than you, I or anybody here.
And I'm sure if you were fired people wouldn't be chasing you out of the building, telling you what a worthless hack you are and attacking your character.

Alright, let's list this off for you nice and easy. There's no way even you will misinterpret what I'm about to tell you.
1. I'm not an Ohio fan, always have and always will be a M fan! And that includes during some of the worst years.
2. I didn't say the coaches weren't lousy, I said I was proud that they didn't give up on the season or team, especially knowing full well he would most likely be out of a job by years end.
3. I don't care if people spent money and went to the game, the fans that did are good fans. The ones that sit back and bitch all year, thinking they could do a better job are idiots. And plenty reside on this blog! Ahem! Which leads to my final point.
4. I never implied that people CANT voice their opinion, obviously they can, and will. And if you chose to use that ability to bitch, it's your opinion, you are entitled to them. But this is my opinion, I'm entitled to it. If you don't like it, move on. I appreciate the effort to make a point, but you immediately discredited your argument when you decided to be a hypocrite.
Rant, rant, rant....I hate Hoke. I'm a michigan man...I could out coach Hoke...rabble rabble rabble. Season is done, get over it! It's time to move forward.
That being said, I'm proud of the team, the seniors, and coaches for everything they have done. It's been a hell of a year, and this team could have folded and given up at the beginning of the season. Hell, I wouldn't blame them, I wouldn't want to play for these fans the way they act. Same for the coaches, they never gave up on these guys like the fans did, and fought to keep this team, a team. I'll say it again, I'm proud of these coaches and these players! Here's to a better future, can't keep the team down long! Go blue!

Who will buy these? My guess would be fans of Michigan football. It might sound crazy, but there are actually these things called fans! Stay with me now, this gets complicated. Now, these fans right, like Michigan football, and they spend their money to support the team, coaches, and university because they care. So because you don't, don't think nobody else will.

These comments pretty much sum up my feeling about the state of this blog. I see the same people in threads like this defending Hoke from a pack of "hyena" reporters, that will relentlessly bash him in others.
And I'd almost be willing to put money on the idea that I could get back to positive points with just a couple of Fuck Hoke posts, or something along the lines of coach bashing.
I'm just a pissed off fan like anybody else here, the troll thing i expected because my views oppose the norm. And I'll deal with that. But I do appreciate you taking the time to read something I posted, and where I'm coming from. Not saying I'm right all the time, and I'll admit when I am. How is what happened this year not an attempt to smear not only the coach, but the AD, the Football Team, and the university as a whole.
Think about it, if this blog didn't exist then there would have never been a boycott forming, the students probably wouldn't have rallied against the Coach, and AD so hard. Which btw, is how this whole thing gained national attention. Basically, this blog has hurt the university and the football team more than anything. No blog, should ever carry the weight this one does, people know that, and use it to their advantage.
I don't necessarily disagree with Brian about how the season has gone. I just don't want to read his opinions, this is a blog for Michigan Athletics, not his opinion. If it were, it should be named Brian's feelings blog. But if that happened there would be no audience to pander to.
To me, and this is my opinion. This blog has turned into a place where opinions are stated as facts, and clearly pushed(really, you can't hide that) and facts, are discredited because they oppose the views of the author.
Idk how many times, on this blog I've seen articles that include, pandering for a cause, misleading information, and twisting of facts to support an agenda. Countless times!

Depending on your point of view, this entire community is composed of trolls. The only difference is what is being trolled. So, carry on with your opinions internet tough guy.
Especially given today, and I believe it was in this thread people have been talking about journalistic integrity. Or Nick Baumgardners lack there of, In including verbal ticks that Hoke uses, frequently or not.
Now, it is my belief that mgoblog is just like any other news outlet. There are game summaries, recruiting news, random stuff...etc. we have all seen it.
And like any news outlet, authors should be held to the same journalistic integrity wether it be here, or in the news. Authors here, can not only write whatever, but also include their own personal agenda, and in Brian's case in particular, actively push that agenda to the masses at his disposal.
Another example is the disdain of the free press articles around here. And why is that? Because they wrote what they wanted to, and pushed an obvious agenda that ended up setting this program back! Well, how is what they do any different than what goes on here? As the board complains and chastises Baumgardner, and the free press for lack of journalistic integrity they endorse it through the site authors. That's hypocrisyif I've ever seen it.
I can't speak for everybody, but I'd much rather read a UFR or any article that highlights the facts and leaves personal opinions and agendas at the door. This tread in particular, with a title like "Whatever" immediately make me think a 15 year old girl wrote it. If that's the feeling you have, keep it to yourself or put it as a comment, there's no need to make your article sound like a whiney little kid.
