I'm curious...how much money will all you spend on this new gear now that it made by Nike and not Adidas? I'd say I'm in the $50-100 range (i.e. one item). Anything over that and I'd feel like I'd been taken to the cleaners. But then again I'm an unemployed manchild.

I've been a lurker since the Rodriguez hire. However, my true obssessive compulsion to check for new threads on mgoblog was never too strong until our Tremendous leader won the Sugar Bowl in his first year and was pulling in one heck of a recruiting class for the next year, and the year after that. There could be four new 4* hello posts in one day back in that era at any given moment (pre-trainwreck). Every time I checked it was instant gratification.

Then I became very indifferent about the program (and sport, for that matter) in the years following.

But now the good times are back, and the obssession is thriving! Viva Harbaugh.

Peppers - early/mid first

Peppers - early/mid first round dependent on junior campaign

Lewis - late first/early second round (NFL can be irrational about measurables)

Butt - good value mid second-rounder

(Power Gap)

Chesson - could be much higher if he has a Manningham-like year, fourth round

Wormley - fourth round

Darboh - fourth/fifth

(Smaller Power Gap)

Taco - he could really shine this year; I'll optimistically guess mid-late rounder, could be undrafted

Glasgow - mid/late rounds

Thomas - late rounder

Overall, even despite homerish projections, it's the best crop of NFL talent Michigan has had in a long time. This season should be very entertaining.

Frankly, MSU has a top 5 - 10

Frankly, MSU has a top 5 - 10 basketball program in the nation and Izzo is bringing in the #2/3 class next year. I don't expect Beilein to beat them every year, but it is nice when he can. If Michigan doesn't make the tournament this year, then it's time to worry. So long as they can consistently make it into the dance and (hopefully) threaten into the second weekend, this is Beilein's team. Let's not forget that his squad was very close to a second consecutive Final Four only two years ago.

This is a defense that can

This is a defense that can absolutely win the Big 10, when healthy. If O'Korn can mature and develop into a middle-upper tier B10 QB by the game in East Lansing, then this is a team with a real shot. There are three or four difficult games on the schedule next year, depending on how you look at Wisconsin. We all know that the defense will rank among the best in the nation. Should O'Korn be able find his feet on the road, then Michigan will have a date with OSU and shot at the playoff.

That's really interesting to me. There's no question that its a slog, but I love to just dig into that list with a morbid fasicnation. Some of those entries are really thought-provoking and I think it's a solid intro to some of the more abstract ideas in the book. Agree to disagree.

Early in the text, maybe 100

Early in the text, maybe 100 pages in, there is a certain endnote detailing the entire filmography of a major character. Read up to that point, and if his experimental film plot descriptions interest you, then IJ is for you. If it feels like a tedious slog, then set it aside.

I never called you stupid, I never called you stupid, but to answer your question my clever reply did get me just the littlest bit hard.

My 0.02:

Do I feel terrible for Erik that he lost a spot on the team?

...after being committed for two years?

...through the brutal decay that was the late Hoke & Brandon era?

Yeah, I do.

Plain and simple, Jim Harbaugh reneged. A young man was under the impression that he would be playing football for Michigan for two entire years, and a short while ago, Jim Harbaugh and staff decided that they would be better off without him. This is immoral and denying that makes you look like a foolish homer.

However, do I think that this is the best course of action for the Michigan team? Yes, obviously. Jim Harbaugh is trying to build the best college football team in America. If he doesn't think a certain young man can compete or contribute to the team in any way, then so be it. As Michigan fans, we want a national title. Meanwhile, Jim Harbaugh is trying to get us to a national title. So long as he is furthering our collective interests, I don't really give a damn if he has to hurt some feelings along the way.

Thank you and god bless
