Interesting read on Don Brown via 11W
What can I say....I am a "keep your enemies close" type, so I occasionally wander over to 11W
Good to hear their in-depth perspective on Brown

My apologies if it's been posted already.

Thanks for posting, good read. I can respect the writers Ramzy has brought in over there, even if their reading/commenting base is so out of their minds.

That applies here as well, sadly. It's almost impossible to have a decent discussion on the internet. I have absolutely no idea how it happens on r/CFB of all places.

Don't compare this blog and the people that post on it to 11 Warriors ever again. Most of the people that post here are smart / funny / don't poop in coolers.
Asshole.
Who negs "don't poop in coolers"? Seesh!
The cooler pooper trolls that inhabit our little MGoParadise!
Cooler-poopers from 11W, obviously

r/CFB is usually terrible, to be honest. That place surrounding the satellite camp saga was ridiculous, you couldn't even post in there as a Michigan fan without being told how Harbaugh actually caused the ban because he was "abusing the system". I saw some guy get upvoted for saying that Satellite camps were actually costing players scholarships because Harbaugh was signing them and then cutting them from the class. You can't even argue with that level of stupid. I read it to get a general sense of the national landscape, but the comments section is filled with a heavy southern bias and a huge disdain for anything Michigan/Harbaugh.
I don't think there are any good neutral forums. Like I said, I read it because it does a pretty good job of curating articles that show what's going on nationally, but the users commenting are mostly full of shit. I've seen many a fan get voted down into oblivion for pointing out specific instances of Ole Miss or Clemson or [insert recent success southern school obviously paying players here] cheating, and the standard response is "Can't prove it! Where's the proof?? And you think your school isn't doing the same thing? Ridiculous." There aren't any real conversations on there, just circlejerks of their already prevailing beliefs.
Spartards?
I've been called out for saying moo u.
I seriously don't give a shit though. I despise those front runners with everything in my maize and blue soul. A couple of losing seasons and "spartan nation" will go back to being the nothing it always was.
Ha! Never heard Fartans before - thank you for the laugh this fine afternoon!

I'm the same way. I find 11W better to read than the MSU board because 11W actually has in depth analysis instead of a bunch of knuckleheads abandoning all logic in order to take any shots they can at M

If 11W is finger painting, just what the heck is RCMB. Occasionally, just occasionally, you'll see reason on 11W. I have NEVER (not that I go there much) seen anything but the dregs of humanity on RCMB!
Yes, debating the merits of 11W v RCMB is like debating virtue among whores.April 14th, 2016 at 12:26 PM ^
Good post. Liked this piece I hadn't seen before - be a dude not a loaf!
This is awesome. I'm surprised Don Brown and Harbaugh hadn't met each other previously -- they seem like two peas in a pod.

My favorite line:
Brown's method of teaching is fairly simple: "solve your problems with aggression," a phrase that shows up on the very first page of his playbook.....
LOVE IT!!!

has 2 losses before we meet them. Notre Dame & Indiana.....yes, Indiana.
Game is in Bloomington and Indiana has been a team in the past couple years with potential to be a real "home-wrecker" in the B1G. And based on early reports, this spring for the hoosiers has been their best under Wilson.
Also hoping Baker Mayfield starts his Heisman campaign against the Buckeyes

Indiana probably not but one of Wisconsin/BYU maybe.
Yes, Indiana is a possibility...or Wisconsin or BYU or Northwestern or @Maryland. They don't have a ton of sure wins before they play us. Obviously they'll be favored in those contests and will win most of them, but two losses by the time we see them is not only not out of the question, it's a distinct possibility.

Some of the 11w writers are good, but overall the tone of that site is set by Our Patron Saint of Perpetual Aggreivement and the attempts at humor just come off as forced and juvenile. If we're being honest, M football has supplied no shortage of comedy material for our rivals over the last 8 years and those amateurs can't even make chicken salad out of that. I kvetch about the state of the MGoBoard as much as anyone else but it's still far and away better than those provincial mouthbreathers and you can trace the difference to the vast gap in maturity between the MGoStaff and their counterparts down south.

RCMB is a special needs group. I've never seen a collection of people who find low brow humor enlightening as much as they do. Their hypocritical approach to everything is beyond the veil of being a biased fanbase. They truely are obsessed with everything Michigan does. They can say that the little brother comment doesn't bother them, but in all honesty, there's little about the statement that isn't completely applicable to them.

wondering, 'what are they thinking? trying to set us up for something?' the article was well-reasoned and well written.

Peppers is listed at 6'1"
Charles Woodson was also listed at 6'1".
I was 6'1" when I was at Michigan - and I was about 1" taller than Woodson.
I've now shrunk to 6', and I highly doubt Woodson hasn't shrunk a similar amount.
...and Woodson is a good couple inches taller than Peppers.
I'd guess barefoot Peppers is somewhere in the 5'9"-5'10" range.
someone else said that Lewis was terrible in coverage. And he was being serious.
he was responding to a guy being critical of position changing our best cover corner (refering to peppers to LB) and this new guy pointed out that lewis is better in coverage and peppers better near LOS. "Peppers was never Michigan's best cover corner. Jourdan Lewis is an all-american corner. He actually struggled in coverage, making the move to a more "close to LOS safety" position a decent one"
Not a completely unreasonable opinion... if we're going to call our blog the more sensible we might as well recognize their sensible opinions when they have one. which appears to be about 1/10 on that site.

the write-up was good. The commenters not so much. Are any of them over 10 years old? The name calling is pretty sad, they act like they are the ones who haven't won in years. How can you be so dominant for so long yet still have an inferioirty complex.

Not doing phrasing anymore?
I read the article... but came away feeling dirty. I didn't like it, don't think I'll do it again... will rely on you guys to do the reconnaissance.

In Ann Arbor, Brown faces a very different challenge than what he's seen before. While the chart above shows that his first year at a new school isn't usually overwhelming, he's taking over a defense left in a good position for the first time in his career.
I'll admit that this is what I am most curious about going into this coming season quite honestly, how does a really, really good unit get even better than it is. It is indeed a unique challenge unto itself anywhere you go to take on a high-performing team or unit and make them even better, and sometimes the changes are much less pronounced but make an even greater amount of difference. I am also really curious to see who looks as if they might start at each position (we won't know until basically the start of the first game, of course) as we head deep into August too.
And holding the Buckeyes and Spartans to 13 and 7 points respectiviely?
I want to shut out those inbreds in Lansing. Considering that they only were successful against us due to an NFL QB (who threw for <50%), a shutout is in order.
last year as a "W" for us. We led the whole game except for the last second. And they won on a type of play that won't be seen in CFB for another 100 years......
Harbaugh has Dantonio's number and he(MD) is very much aware of it.......That's why he back-pedaled on his sattelite camp comments. Like Hollis sat him down and said, "do we really want to go down this road?"
