I don't understand why so many of you are so hurt by this. I know he did a good job improving the defense this year. The thing is, this is how it is in big time football nowadays. The more successful your program is, the more likely other schools will try to hire your coaches. if JH left, then there is reason to be angry as he would be moving laterally and why would he want to do that. But, coordinators leaving for head coaching jobs, and position coaches leaving for coordinator jobs happen all the time and is a sign that you're doing something right. There is no true long term status quo in a successful program.
Also, as far as interviewing before the end of the season, I am not a fan, but it is the trend in big time football anymore. If some coaches don't, then they may not be in the running for some jobs.
Maryland is not and has not been a good program, but i wish him luck (up to a point) in turning it around.
