absolutely LOVED the way the defense played, and have to admit that it gave me flashbacks to 2006 as well.
but I can't help but still feel underwhelmed with the passing game, and would have felt complete if I had seen Denard throw for just 1 td. And I realize that it was windy, but the issues with the passing still worries me.
It seems to me like it's one of those "if it doesn't work you're an idiot, if it does you're a genius" calls, perfect example being when Sean Payton onside kicked to start the second half in the Super Bowl - if the Colts recover that kick and the Saints lose everyone would have killed him for that call.
If that play worked and we scored a momentum shifting TD, and possibly won the game, we'd all be talking about how ballsy Hoke and Borges are and that our players come through in crunch time.
Totally agree, he's not a very accurate passer, and although speedy talented on the ground he gets beat up a lot and tends to wear down by season's end
looking at the strides Denard made in passing ability from freshman to sophomore, I think we'll be just fine as he can stay healthy. Denard will be much more matured and a better passer. but an injury puts all the eggs in Gardner's basket
of the fans. I think that our staff is definitely something to get excited about, I just don't want the bar to get set where people expect the world next season. it will take time to return to prominence

and hope that he's a fortune teller
the players laughing at Coach Hoke saying "swag"
[pan to Denard still laughing]

am I just being too pessimistic?
Didn't like the jersey but I did love the "Victors Valiant" undershirts

very, very impressed with what he's accomplished. thank you for posting
do you know how we fared defensively in the year before and after Mattison? just wondering how much he created or if it was mostly sustained success
