Title IX or not, with the courts and government becoming much more interested in equal outcomes rather than equal opportunity there will be lawsuits. And no guarantee those lawsuits don't put things right back to being paid under the table, because that's what works best to pay those who are worth being paid.

I've always advocated for the directional Michigan schools to drop to FCS. The costs for those schools to maintain FBS status vs FCS have to be pretty high, and that's all passed on in tuition costs.
If those schools dropped to FCS, a couple of the D2 schools of comparable size could jump to FCS to join them. Help with travel costs to play C Mich, W Mich, E Mich, GVSU in one league.
Thankfully this is where lawyers can step in and come up with a plan that a judge may determine is equitable. And those lawyers will only take a measly 30% of the total to provide those numbers.

As I got older I figured out being very nice, but also very firm about what I wanted got me the same thing. The first is easier and feels better, the latter is harder and requires some planning. I used to set aside 30 minutes with no obligations and something idle in the background while I waited on hold multiple times just so I could stay nice. Not everyone has that kind of time.
As far as Reps having to take people's guff? It should inspire them to get a skill or another job. Which should push up turnover and thus costs at the company trying to make a buck off people being too timid to call and fight the new rate. A lot of these companies offshored the first level interaction, so I feel even less sympathy for them.
Thankfully where I live now I have multiple internet providers. I chose the one that I don't have to negotiate every year with, just on principle.

We got a kicker and might get a guy back who wants to be a wideout. Unless some QB comes along who is darn good, I would prefer to stand pat. There are guys who've been waiting patiently in the DB and Oline rooms. I think we'll be fine.

He was in an offense that is literally designed to shown off QBs and he was still mediocre. Or, as a UT fan said to me halfway through last season "If we had a real QB, this team would be pretty good. No wonder he couldn't make it in the Big 10".
Oh 90% or better of the people on this board complaining about NIL were "Michigan money cannon" stans. Michigan never played the game on the edges before, why anyone thought we would now is a mystery to me.

They needed a wholesale culture change in year 0. 17 sounds like a lot of bad apples, which shouldn't surprise anyone given what they did last couple years.
There are always people out the door after spring ball. Some don't like where they ended up on the depth chart, and some probably had heart to heart conversations with their position coaches. Hopefully those guys will end up where they really belong.

I think there is a long way from beating most every team 45-7 to losing 5 games. I wouldn't be shocked mind you. But I also expect 10-2 or 9-3 being a lot more likely. We've had worse QB situations and won 10 games.

If he's anywhere near as good as people say he would be my choice if you can't get a 10 year o-lineman. If his blocking is dubious, there are solutions to that. Have him run fly routes on run plays. That seems to be the rule at Michigan. 3 to 3 1/2 years to graduation. I realize football is a full time job, but with the proper degree track and access to tutors like these guys have, totally doable.
I'm assuming the idea is that you either find a spot in the 2 deep or graduate and go somewhere else without hurting the academic metrics. Not a bad way to start life with a UM degree in hand and no college debt.

Yes. I would guess UDFA guys don't have 20 contracts they get to choose from. Wouldn't be surprised if some of them only get 1 offer.

2021 OSU was like pornography. Every hand-off to Haskins in the 4th was like watching the bully in every TV show get his ass beat over and over.
