| 1 year 29 weeks ago | I tend to agree although my |
I tend to agree although my interest in the site has not decreased (the site is amazing)…only my interest in the board, liveblog, commenting, etc. Most of the posts are not responding to the content of the original post or the content of another person’s post. Instead they’re about how the post included a misspelled word or wasn’t worthy in the first place or whatever. I tuned into the liveblog for the first couple of games and took the time to read the liveblog rules and did my best to abide by them and still had trouble getting many comments posted. Meanwhile I saw dozens of posts from mods who posted word for word comments that the liveblog rules said would get a regular person banned. I tell everyone who will listen about mgoblog.com and have heard the same thing from some of them…they that love the site but don’t understand/like the concept of a point system, moderators, negs, etc. Perhaps the point system, moderators and negs are necessary or the site will descend into chaos, in which case I guess it is a necessary evil. But I can tell you for certain that it turns a lot of would-be posters off. EDIT: Really can't believe someone negged this post. Without even giving me the courtesy of a response. Man that's petty and only serves to prove my original post. |

Kellen Jones sounds like a Michigan man through and through. |

Despite how upset I was with the loss, when I look back on it now, I must say that I am somewhat heartened by the fact that it took no mistakes from MSU, 3 Michigan INTs, some bad luck as far as penalties go, two shoestring tackles on Shaw and Roundtree early in the game that likely would have gone the distance…all that and we still only got beat by what people are calling a top 10 team and a dark horse contender for the national title by 17 points. |

Frankly I don't understand why so many people are questioning whether Denard Robinson can stay healthy. Seems like there might be some hating going on. Terrelle Pryor ran for 20 times against Miami and has run for 20+ many times and I don't remember anyone doubting his ability to stay healthy. Marcus Lattimore (South Carolina) ran nearly 40 times last weekend and I haven't heard a peep from anyone about him. Granted he's a RB...but still. Pat White ran a grip and never suffered a serious injury as far as I know. |

"the Big Ten and SEC have split their two annual bowl tie-in games 10 to 10 over the last decade." Right. And I think it is only fair to point out that the SEC (and the Big 12 and Pac Ten) has a huge advantage in Bowl games because of where they're located. My personal favorite was the 2007-2008 Bowl games: |
| 1 year 49 weeks ago | It seems to me that it might still be possible to get Texas |
Since Nebraska and Colorado are leaving the Big 12, maybe the Pac 10 will substitute Utah and another school in place of Oklahoma State and Texas Tech. I live in California and get the sense that many out here aren't too happy about allowing Oklahoma State and Texas Tech to join just to get Texas. If that happens, perhaps the Big Ten could offer Texas and have a shot especially if the Texas fans prefer the Big Ten as folks on here have said. If Nebraska and Colorado leave, the Big 12 will almost surely fall apart and Texas may no longer have the power to bring all those hanger-ons with it. Texas will have to go somewhere and doesn't seem interested in the SEC. |
| 1 year 51 weeks ago | Well said Brian |
It was so well said that I felt it necessary to opine...and earn my 3rd point in the process. Michigan fans should have expected a rough transition when RR was hired given the major changes that everyone from Bill Martin to a fair-weather fan knew were coming. At least Michigan is getting better, not getting worse or going sideways which would be a worrying sign. Assuming he wins 6-8 games this year, I think it would be ridiculous not to give him another year. I can't think of another coach that could come in next year and magically fix everything. If anything, changing coaches would set us back another 2-4 years at least. And you're right Brian...once RR gets this thing on track, we could easily see a decade or two of top 10 football. Finally although someone would be forgiven for thinking RR is some sort of drama queen given all of the off-the-field issues the last few years, I really think some people just have bad luck in bunches. RR doesn't strike me as an underhanded dude at all. |
| 2 years 24 weeks ago | Apologies if it has already |
Apologies if it has already been explained, but why is it that we can't sign more than 25 players in one year if, even with those players, we'll be nowhere near the total limit of 85 scholarships? Is it just an NCAA rule or something? |
| 2 years 24 weeks ago | I certainly don’t see |
I certainly don’t see anything wrong with Tim (or anyone else for that matter) being critical of the start of the 2009 hoop season or of the football program in general provided they do it respectfully, which everyone seems to be doing. Trying your best may buy you some time but I have found that results are all that matters in the real world at the end of the day. Besides, everyone reaches the threshold of what they can take without venting at different times. I would be willing to bet a pretty penny that even those who say folks looking for someone to blame are not helpful will be looking for someone to blame if we have two or three more football seasons like the last. |
