So..

So, presumably, the playcalling is limited to help them be successful at executing plays by limiting other factors (needing time in pocket, naked bootleg, complicated patterns etc..)..

If that's true, HOW BAD ARE WE that in a dumbed down offense against a solid defense (MSU), we can't even legitimately move the ball down the field?

The first posession was nice until the red zone, and then we panicked and threw it out of bounds on our fade / side line routes.  How many times can our QBs throw that route out of bounds before we don't do it anymore. I get it.. they tell him.. if youre going to throw it make sure only our guy can get it... but when is that EVER the case?

Then, thanks to the special teams luck and the defense, we had a 30 yard drive.

Then nothing.

So... we simplify the offense so they can execute it better, and THIS is what it looks like?  How far are we from even competence?!

maybe but tatum won't be enough this year to do that. Hayward might if they can gel as a team.
As a Celtics fan.. I'm starting to feel like they overplayed their hand and may be completely shut out this off season. Still plenty of assets, but no remarkable improvement. not feeling confident in getting Hayward right now either.
