100% correct. I've lived in MI, NYC and travel a lot. Massachusetts drivers have a number of idiosyncrasies that make them uniquely the worst in the US. It's almost like they drive bad on purpose.
Not a bad article, considering this is Rosenberg. But (even putting aside his prior offenses against the program) can't we all agree that he's a terrible writer. His style is the same type of thing you'd read in a grade school book. And he's also a douche.
Mike McGee was the man and led the team in scoring for 4 years. Pretty sure he was also a first round draft choice. For those who have questions about Gary Grant's impact, I remember guys wearing "Grant is God" t-shirts around the dorm when he was a freshman. Time also makes it hard to recall how good certain guys were, but Ricky Green (still the fastest guy I"ve ever seen play) has to be in the conversaiton. Phil Hubbard also helped take the team (with Green) to the championship game and made the Olympic team as a freshman. Burke, however, certainly rates as one of the best.
About 2/3 through the book. Hard reliving 08-09, but agree with previous comments that having Rosenberg (and Snyder) discredited as serious journalists was fun to read. I hope that hack suffers professionally.
This one is easy for me. Senior year - Harbaugh TD pass to Kolesar against OSU that sealed the W. Under the temporary lights (brought in for the TV cameras). Freezing cold; slipped with other fans on the frozen beer on the ground during the TD celebration. Crowd went crazy.
I'm surprised and disappointed at the negative comments here. Brian is totally off his rocker. DB is a pro and doesn't make decisions without a plan. For goodness sake, he worked for Bain Capital for several years. Bain doesn't do anything without a 50 page strategy document and a plan. I doubt this process was any different. He is easily the best AD we've had since DC and will prove himself further as time goes on. I haven't seen ONE negative comment from any former player and the current team appears to be genuinely supportive of this hire. Were we really excited about LM coming in with his SEC stank and bringing us down to the level of that phony Tressel? We're better than that. We're Michigan. Start acting like it.
Michigan's system (particularly the defense) was the football equivalent of East Germany after the wall came down. Neglect and ineptitude left them ill prepared for the modern era. Carr had been mailing it in for years - not to mention the fact that he was the "accidental head coach" from the very beginning. He was an assistant at Michigan for years and never, ever had a quality school (or any school as far as I can tell) try to recruit him away from Ann Arbor. Moeller's temporary insanity was the one and only reason he became the Gerald Ford of Michigan head coaches. Everybody who wants RR gone needs to calm down and realize that it will take more than 1 recruiting year to get back on the rails. Let's not get so nostalgic for all of those great 8-4 seasons.
